Bug 476: (zippyzee) Example of bug: You have loote...
Bug ID : 476 - Example of bug: You have loote... Bug Date : 2016/04/02 02:43:00 Assigned To : zippyzee Priority : Low Category : VGClient Sub-Category : Gameplay: Quest Severity : Minor (e.g. Cosmetic) Reproducible : Every timeDetails:
Example of bug: You have looted 4/5 of the items you need for a quest from NPC A. You kill several mobs (NPC A) in succession without looting them. You can loot the quest item from all of the mobs you killed even if its brings you over 5 total quest items since you were less than 5 when it was killed. If you loot excess quest items and then delete them, the quest tracker will subtract from your total quest items even if you still have 5/5. The objective still shows (Complete) once you initially hit 5/5 however and the quest can be turned in with the objective showing (Complete) 4/5 for example.

There is still some unfinished code on deleting quest items, etc. There is nothing in place yet for handling the excess loot quest items. That might take some thinking on the right strategy to prevent it. In live, would you have the same chance to have the item show up in multiple unlooted corpses that would be more than the total needed for a quest? If so, what happened when you looted the last one you needed? Did it remove it from the other corpses' loot or allow you to loot it?

You could end up with extra quest items in Live, happened often with drops like this. Once turned it it'd just take out the required number of items and leave the extras (which is good in case multiple quests need the same item, or was an actual useful item like a clicky).
The only bug here compared to Live is that deleting an extra quest object before turning in messes up the item count in the quest log. Doing so in Live would still trigger an Objective Update ding and show the count in the top of the screen, but still show the correct count. For example: needing 5 of an item and looting 6 would show 5/5 in the tracker. Deleting the extra before turning in would trigger the ding and show 5/5 on screen again.

You could loot as many quest items as there were on corpses you killed before the quest completed. It would also leave either all the excess items or all the items totally if it didn't have the remove in their script. Yeah deleting or otherwise removing a quest item from your inventory (putting in bank, chest) did trigger a quest update that counted backward.

I am working on this right now and it should be in my next commit.
