If someone wants to play a non-healer, they would/should understand that it comes with the disadvantage of not being able to heal themselves, or carry around a bunch of healing potions. Comes with the territory...

What about when a healer dies? There's no penalty because they can heal themselves? That is totally unbalanced. Also, no mention of people dieing when soloing? VG isn't ALWAYS in groups, some people solo. Rez sickness can address all that - spells not as effective, longer cast times, etc.

Simply removing rez sickness w/o compensating for the penalty in some way doesn't seem right. I'm not against it going away, not at all. I'm saying that there should be a death penalty such that players actually fear it - a little XP loss doesn't seem adequate.

Personally, I always believed in Rez Sickness. Just seems more "realistic" to me that if you DIE... and come back to life, you should limp along a little bit. I can see the SOE devs made it harsh and frustrating (what a shocker?) so again, like the Furious convo, instead of talking about removing it entirely, I'd like options to make it work better. Less harsh and annoying, but still "a penalty" to prevent it from being no-big-deal.

Standard:
- Equipment damage
- XP debt

Shorter duration:
- Slowed Movement
- Stats hit
- Potion/Spell/Clickie of Restoration (instantly clears sickness, but isn't effortless)
- Turned into a Mouse Man

I think one of the problem's with rez sick is that it wasn't so much the effects that made it annoying. I'm all for having penalties and fearing death. I never really cared about rez sick when I was just normally grouping. If I died, then oh well. It kinda ties back to player power maybe?

Most of the times raiding it was just luck factors that got me killed anyways. Like on Karax, if his AoE crit me high enough I would die and then due to the effects i'd be out the whole fight as a result of one unlucky crit that was out of our control. I'm not so much for luck factors

I'd probably shoot myself though if it snared me in anyway.

Would it be over-the-top (game-breaking) if you are on a Raid (part of a group that makes up an actual Raid party) that Rez Sick is avoided? Sounds like solo/grouping, it's no biggie. But when it matters is during big take downs.

Maybe have abilities that are raid-dependent. Similar to EQ AA's that are for raid groups/leader only? I like that as an AA ability.

If you're on a raid and you die, you're already penalized from losing all of your buffs. This is very important because you might not be able to get those buffs back, especially diplo buffs, clicky buffs, item buffs, or things like QJ which puts you on a 5 minute timer.

Rez sick just almost guaranteed you would die over and over so it made it really unfun on top of it.

In the live game it would also have this fun effect: You'd release, go to the person that you pay like 1 gold to remove rez sick, then get rezzed by your raid because you can't get back to them, and bam, you've got rez sick again but now the full 5 minute timer again.

It really didn't make me want to avoid death in any that I *could* avoid, which is why it was annoying that they gave it to raiders to start.

Most people levelling do their BEST to avoid death. So it seems like a system that's annoying instead of punishing.

Maybe we should be looking at it from a few different views? I don't think really think one singular rez sick debuff can cover people leveling, people grouping and people raiding. At least not effectively. Should we try to do different types of rez sick depending on what you are doing? Is that even possible/feasible?
