I'd love to see the currents brought back. Not just a few streams with working current scattered out in the wild, but all flowing water should have current, and it did, before they padded all the sharp edges in the game (like removing KoS factions).

I'm biased though, because my first real good laugh in game was because of the current. Myself and a dwarf friend were running through Leth on our way to the vendor area. We were running behind the palace and instead of crossing the bridge, he tried to jump the aquaduct and fell short. The current quickly swept him out of the aqua duct into Vol Tuniels' bowl, then over the side of that, and down into the newbie area lake. He survived the fall thanks to a water landing, but died soon after to a swarm of low level newbie area mobs. They were the caster orbs (koan sprites, I think), and made quick work of him.

Yes, I liked that Vanguard wasn't safe and that even mobs many levels below you can kill you, if there's enough of them. That's also why I liked factions being influenced by race and class, and being KoS to some. The fact that death was lurking around every corner made the world come alive for me - that is immersion.

I can't remember why they removed the currents, does anyone have any links or info as to why they were removed?

I did like the Leth water slide though and the river near Veskals Exchange almost swept me away on an alt doing a lowbie quests, it was awesome having that added element.

Good call to bring them back.

This is likely handled by the Unreal scripts (client side) and not in our control, but someone should definitely look into it. I did find a stream in the empty world that did this, which is why I know it's not spawn related.

I remember posting something about this on the forums back when they were in the middle of switching to F2P and commented about this and was told that the currents were never disabled, only the water reflections were changed to not be so taxing on the computer hardware. So they should all be working.

hmm, I don't recall qualia having any I think, I only ever remembered Thestra being the continent with currents, I could be wrong, but I know a lot of the rivers in thestra did change from having them to being static

They removed them from cities and the heavier populated areas when they softened the world to appeal to a wider audience. It happened about the same time that factions got adjusted (GU5) and city factions were introduced.

It may not have been intentional, because they denied it on the forums, but the aquaducts in Leth have been static ever since.

Can you tell me what chunk and coord this stream is in so I can take a look? (you can do the /loc command when you are in the stream)
I''m thinking the stream is either class clientmover or class mover

Deltharien, can you go in-game and get coordinates for Tiger for a stream you knew once moved that no longer is?

Tiger, even with a completely empty world (ie., we did not spawn anything), a stream I was in had a current. Unless you mean built-in movers? That could be. There are places that levitate you up too, without any custom data being added. IoD, the Keep for instance.
