I'm having the same problem with logging in. My toon, Virulian, made it in once today and since then I can't get back. As soon as I hit Play, one of two things happen:

1) The Character Select Window and the window at the bottom disappear, and the flames stop their animation. Music continues until the song is over.

2) I get the status bar and it fills all the way up as if I'm about to be dropped in the world. It stays that way until I close the program.

Okay, thanks for the added info. Hopefully someone comes around today to take a look into this new problem, which is gaining popularity. I don't think it's any of the new code, because I don't see any evidence of this in the console logs. It could also be my internet connection. It drizzled 2 drops of rain in Phoenix today, so I expect power, phone and internet to go down along with a complete breakdown of civilization. Don't give up hope.

I'll look at this tonight. The information provided has been VERY helpful. If their is a hang up somewhere while the character is connecting to the chunk, it may not being constructed all the way. The Kick function's failure is probably related to this.

I tried for about 30 minutes, using 2 chars, logging in and out, sometimes camping, sometimes force closing, sometimes initiating camp and then force closing, logging back in right away, logging in after 1 minute. I tried logging in as char 1, force closing and logging in as char 2. I put char 1 and 2 on 2 different chunks, tried with them on the same chunk. Tried with Account 1 and Account 2 on 2 different and same chunks.

NOTHING. Everything worked flawlessly. I never once couldn't load into the game after Char Select.

Edit: What I did NOT try was force closing the client before it fully loaded a chunk... And I think this is what Glax had essentially done. I'll be back.

Heh, also keep in mind we're not on a local LAN here. This is using WAN connectivity from /who knows where/ to me, and Public Login. Remember, my config is a little more spread out than a localhost box where there is nearly 0 latency.

I still have two characters that show "online" ( Earful and Zarlorenew ) which I tried to sign in yesterday.

I never forced closed my client. I let each characer sign-in attempt to fully run it's course which in the end timed out and auto-closed the client to the desktop or character select. Why it would either pick: time-out to Desktop or time-out character select i'm not sure as I could not duplicate either.

Good News:
I was able to sign in with all characters just a few moments without any issues. I was able to /camp each one successfully back to Character select as well with no issues.

Signing on to these characters also "Cleared" the two characters that were hanging out there as "online" from yesterday!
