Hope you don't mind shargash but i logged on to your character on NT and i have the same issue. I compared a packet collect from your character and my character and the only difference is have 180 abilities and more items then me. I wonder if that has something to do with it. I'm going to test moving the abilities and items to the end of the startup to see if there is any negative effect if not I'll see if we can test it on NT.

No problem. Anything I can do to help.

Feel free to use Shargash for any testing you may do. I'll use other accounts in the meanwhile.

Ok look's like the issue is trying to send all 180 abilities to the client at once.

Ok so i duplicated his character locally and it load's but it seem's to hesitate so i'm thinking it's a latency issue maybe? I'm almost thinking we might need to break up the sending of abilities if it's over a certain amount. Cause i noticed the first time i logged shargash on he had 6 pages of abilities and the next he had 9 pages of abilities when he should have 14 pages.
I'm looking at a live collect of a level 55 and i see 98 abilities then a few differnt opcodes then 69 abilities and a few different opcodes and then 35 abilities where if i look at a collect from NT it's all 180 abilities in a row which are being sent to the client it's just the client stop's processing them at some point.

Also why don't we just send the highest rank ability that character has instead of all of them? Did people actually use lower level versions of abilities?

Well crap i loaded all 180 abilities on to one of my characters on NT and i load just fine.

Loaded items, abilities and hotbar just fine also.

WTF

Ok so i moved you to IoD and you load just fine.

OK so as long as there is not many npc's around you seem to load fine but if i camp you around other npc's besides the starting area in IoD you have issues.

Yeah, I've had very strong opinions about our "NPC->Client" loading for many, many months. Maybe now it will get addressed. For instance, the 30s or more "Not responding" VGClient when I load into a chunk that has any NPCs in my proximity.

I do not think our NPC->Client push was ever optimized after Xen put it together to make them work in the first place. I know even I got into his code and changed how things loaded from the DB instead of his random placements (which is long gone now).

This is yet another reason I put Trace loggers everywhere; turn them on, watch the spam. The amount of data we're sending is enormous (and hopefully, only what is in proximity).
