From Hobart I'm looking for a list of areas in the world that have geometry issues that effect players the most. I'm not looking for floating rocks or trees or anything minor like that. I am looking for holes in the world you fall through, objects you can't navigate over or around due to bad collision, or anything that players run into that would be a major annoyance. Please provide the chunk # #, the location, and a brief description of the issue. Thanks!
Some more steps and bricks that are very easy to get stuck on. Your current location is -22464, 29722, 47529 in Halgarad (-22, 26). Your current location is -22111, 29728, 47514 in Halgarad (-22, 26). Your current location is -23086, 28416, 47527 in Halgarad (-22, 26). Basically every tree on Skawlra Rock (-11,-7) is messed up and flashes / disappears based on your location. For example, -37114,19939,3407, rotation 17.
It would be much easier to provide that information if we had a command or button we could use whenever we got stuck/fell through. Instead of having to /loc for coordinates and note them just to enter the information into a forum thread it would be much more convenient to send a report in-game that implicitly contains coordinates and maybe allows for entering a comment before submitting. The cumbersome handling of now already prevented me from submitting such information. If I am stuck and getting offered a /rope I rather not scroll through a chat window to find my latest /loc output, but I accept that rope and run to get that heal off to keep the tank alive. There is a /stuck command already, why not implement a '/stuck report'? I'd even hotkey that one.
I agree it would be nice to have a /<something> specifically for geometry bugs but I think using /stuck might not be the best idea. I know a lot of people actually use it as a ghetto port.
...if you happen to do any changes to Skawlra, could you consider turning down the brightness of the sand?
I have several logs running while playing Vanguard, one of which is a location log, it reports the /loc coordinates into the logs folder. Easy for find locations where stairs are an issue, I dont expect everyone to have logs running at all times and your suggestion is valid, but there are easier ways then doing /loc and getting a pen to write it down to post on the forums later. Its a simple copy paste with loc logs.
Steps leading into Thestran houses, all my characters get stuck on this almost every time I enter, no need to loc this, vsist my houses in smugglers bend if you need to check.
Zatozia i need to speak to you! It's me Picklaw from EQOA! i trie so hard to reach you! go to my link below and read. there's something i want you to see. and you can speak to me there. and u can email me Negaverse0@aol.com http://eqoa.forumup.com/viewtopic.php?t=208&mforum=eqoa When the time comes u will want to speak to me. and u want answers. The Sun will go dark. .
Stairs in Gnome Bunkers like Neamsog. Maybe my Halfling's legs are to short but I can't climb these stairs without jumping.
The elevator in Hegnarian's area (Specifically where Myrdicos spawns) doesn't always work. This makes it difficult to leave without evac or stucking out.
I would say all ocean floors, but that probably doesn't affect players the most. Any ocean where you have to go for quests might be though, the turtle area in skrillien point for hunter's league and the xennumet access quest in dragon's backbone and islands of madness are the first ones that come to mind. Just swim into almost any sloped terrain underwater and you can go right through it.
Agree with Baldur. There is something else - rent a flying mount and fly against a mountain. You fly through the texture and you will die.
Try hitting a bottom of every river - you'll fall through textures - that's almost guaranteed. Many of the rocks will get you fallen inside them and stuck. It's a major flaw with that game, there is no "minor" issues, you WILL find geometry holes that will make you use /stuck yes in every chunk if you're not careful. Experienced players have an intuition to avoid such places, but all world of Telon is just a big death trap for newbie. It can be very frustrating. Many of the ladders/stairs have problems with passability too. I sent few reports about that issues but they haven't been fixed for weeks, and i don't want to type all that coordinates for nothing. Besides that, there are so many places with geometry problems i don't think it all could be fixed individually - it needs a global solution.
CoB - the yellow flatish barriers that border the majority of the floor space - if you run at them and hit them at the wrong angle you just pop straight through the floor. Happens continuously and is very very annoying.
This is not specific, but perhaps an interesting tidbit on geometry. I have recently returned to the game after an absence of 1.5 years or so. Prior to my absence, I very, very rarely fell through the world, got stuck in geometry or had issues with stairs. Since I've returned, I'm falling through the world on a regular basis. Same character, same PC.... just odd that this wasn't an issue before.
