Arachnadon was also specifically a melee mob and casters weren't meant to do much damage. I believe that they did that by giving it very high resistance or spell mit. That makes me wonder if spell mit resulted in a partial resist message or just reduced damage. A partial resist message would be ...

It looks like you are looking at pota stuff though, I would be surprised if a toon in there would be missing much as they would have high accuracy. I think it was more the skill levels. I would set it up like this, max skill = 95% base chance to hit an equal level target (actually the tooltips say that is exactly what it is). There is a lot tied to resists that I haven't added stats for yet. If you check the resist tooltip you will see total and partial resist stats as well as spell and melee mit stats. I have seen the code that calculates these values, but I haven't created equations or setup the dependencies yet.

The trouble is that 15 is also all of the specialized spell damage focus values (so 7 attributes in one). My code is written such that they are all separate attributes.
