Post your VG computer setup

  1. I'd like to see what everyones desk/keyboard/mouse/rig is for VG. I use mine for gaming in general of course, but this setup seems to work well for me.
    I have:
WASD Mechanical Keyboard w/Blue switches - If you haven't tried a mechanical keyboard you should
ASUS 120hz 23' monitor - I don't use it for 3D... just for the hz!
Steelseries Glass mouse pad - really smooth and never wears out... it also has the benefit of reducing lod on your mouse
Steelseries MMO mouse - It does have the WoW logo but the features work in any game, I can use 7 skills just from my mouse. I like it better than the razer naga... never liked the feel of the naga.

And here's my rig, Core i7 950, 6gb RAM, GTX 570, Raptor HD. All I need now is to get an SSD.

    Let's see yours!
  2. Haha. The PC ePe.en thread! Was wondering when one of these would show up.
Neat tower you have though, I like the rubber gating on the back for cable management.
  3. WOOT Epeen, can I play?
    custom desktop:
    Commadore 64
  4. What kind of case is that?
  5. forgot the benchmark :p

  7. Looks a lot like my case, they must all be similar these days. I got a Fractal Design Define R3, it's really nice.
I dont have any pics of my pc but I built it not that long ago and still have specs:
    Apple Cinema Display 20
    i5 2500k Sandy Bridge overclocked to 4.6ghz
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro cooler (really good)
    Asus P8P67 mobo
    8gig Corsair DDR3 1600
    Antec True Power 650w modular
    Samsung Spinpoint F3 - storage
Corsair Force 3 ssd (120 gig) - (worth having anyway but it will totally transform Vanguard)

p.s. Logitech g500 mouse. And just a cheap Microsoft Keyboard, one of those wavey ones.
  8. I play on a 32" Sony LCD tv, with a Logitech F310 gamepad and my dusty old nostalgic keyboard that I used to play EQOA with.

  9. Yay, showoff threads!
    Asus VE247H 24" LED @ 1920x1080
Logitech G700 mouse on a Razer Goliathus pad
    Logitech G510 keyboard
    Logitech G35 headphones
Wooden desk. This is the best bit of the lot! It was half price and I got to assemble it myself.
    i5-3570k, 16GB RAM, GTX660 Ti 2GB, Samsung 830 128GB SSD, OCZ Agility 4 128GB SSD, Seagate 2TB HDD, powered by a Corsair GS800, in a Cooler Master Storm Enforcer.
    Second box has a BenQ 21.5" LCD @ 1920x1080, Synergy software KM so same G700/G510 (though I have a G15 Gen1 if I need it, heh), Phenom II 955BE, 8GB RAM, GTX460 1GB, Corsair Force3 120GB SSD, 2x Seagate 500GB and Seagate 1TB HDDs, powered by a Corsair HX650 in a Cooler Master HAF942.
  10. i play vanguard with a sony gdm-fw900 24 inch CRT 16,10 monitor at 2340x1440 resolution. the thing weighs 96 pounds
still.. its best CRT ever made and still has better specs then any Plasma or lcd. That includes Plasma TV like the Pioneer Elite Kuro, CRT tvs like the Sony XBR-960 and these prototype OLEDs and AMOLED phone/tablet displays as welll.
i even adapted it to use the monitor as HDTv.
i wouldn't ditch this monitor for gaming ever. and thats not just cause i cling to old tech.
CRT were made to last. heard too many stories of failing LCD to even trust it. bought one once and it failed me after 1,5 years.. hope this screen serves me until 2020 at least. its been working without problem for 6 years now.. i got lucky and bought a refurbished model from 2005, one of the very last ever made.
  11. Batuo ---- okay... double-you-tee-eff.
If I could play Vanguard on my phone at work, I'd be a happy person. I don't even need to do much, just happily craft some work orders to pass the time.

Simple, use your phone to remote access your gaming PC. It's surprisingly playable on a Galaxy S3 or a Transformer Infinity (the latter moreso because of it's lovely 1920x1200 res screen). You need a decent remote access app that can stream at decent framerates though, and a fairly stable connection.
  13. Man Bell, your case looks awesome.
    My set up currently is
    Intel I5 (1st gen, the 1156 chipset) 750 2.67GHz
    Asus P7P55 Mobo
    EVGA, Nvidia Geforce 560TI 2gb
    8 gig of Corsair DDR3 1333
    750 Watts of Power
    Logitech G510 Keyboard
    Logitech wireless mouse
    Sony PS3 Wireless Headset/Mic
You guys put my "ish" to shame, but i get really good performance and video quality, all while running 3 clients on 2 HD monitors.

  18. What amazes me the most about these posts-
Yes, there are some pretty cool rigs- cases/boards/etc- I'm less envious about those things-
But what I AM amazed by is... How clean/ uncluttered most of these look- I've spent more time than I can think hiding wires and I still can't get mine looking as nice as these do- congrats all :)
