Any RP left?

Discussion in 'The Tooth and Nail Tavern (RP Haven)' started by ARCHIVED-BeerMonk, Apr 2, 2012.

  1. Was curious. I'm trying out the game, and was wondering if there was any RP left in the game, or has everyone else moved on to greener pastures?
Any info on the state of RP would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

  2. I think I talked to you in game on my jingee charater. I'm currently waiting for the deletion systems to come back up so I can re-reoll her but if you want to Rp with a sarcastic halfling bard after I get her up and running I'll be around! Heck maybe just random Rp in a public area will be enough to get other RP'ers to come outta the woodwork, who knows.

    Jeylin, darkelf necro
    Jingee, Halfling druid
    Jerinna Halfling paladin

I'm up for anything on those chars, questing, dungeon delving,RP whathave you.

Not even close dude. Florendyl died like 4 years ago (the only RP server). Furthermore, the only bodies left are people who are hardheaded about letting the woman who's cheated on him 13 times go. Use your imagination.
  5. We can only hope that they bring back an RP server when F2P brings back the masses.
  6. Everyday I see no less that 10-156 people in the general chats saying they just resubed to the game to check it out again. I know it's not a huge number of people but it's pretty encouraging. now to just figure out a way to lure some Rp buddies here. This might involve a taser.
  7. It's encouraging to see people post in this thread, at least with the intent of trying to revive something once F2P hits. The more I play, the more I see this game as full of tools that RP'ers can really sink their teeth into, if only they could find their way to the game.

I don't know how populated the game was in the past, in regards to RP, but one can always hope a resurgence takes place with the transition.
  8. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of RP I encountered whilst on the Isle of Dawn. Many times stopping and waving (then waiting for a response wave or the like) and saying hello (and waiting for a retort in kind) flowed naturally on into a little RP banter which resulted in grouping up and questing together for usually hours on end: The whole time in character of course :). Unfortunately now that my character's moved on to Qalia it's harder to come across. I haven't really found any yet, though I assume that is primarily due lack of player density around the Qa Riverbank where my character's currently adventuring.
So yes, in my very limited experience so far on Vanguard; it's definitely there. I say; RP all the time when in groups and even alone when interacting with your enviornment etc etc. Players happy to RP with you tend to pop up often.
  9. vanguard is an immersive game, if not roleplay, its at least a community that lives within their characters. its the main reason i stay and play.
  10. I too am actively seeking RP. It can add a lot to a game, particularly one such as this. The suggestions in this thread are good. Most of the spontaneous RP I've had has been a response to my acting and speaking in character, even if others around me were not.
I've only had people get annoyed with it once or twice, typically if they're not interested they just ignore it and do what they're most comfortable with.
Hope to see you in the world!

Which is also what was great about SWG preCU.
  12. Hi All! Baneblades comment is what compelled me to post. I have a question and I'm hoping someone who can answer it comes along and does so.
I am wondering if Vanguard can be approached in much the same way as SWG: PreCU regarding crafting. More specifically, if I have a character (or hopefully friend or guildmate) who can obtain the crafting resources that I need, is it possible for me to be a dedicated crafter, i.e. guild armorsmith or weaponsmith etc, or is it required that you level your character through combat/questing in order to improve in crafting? If it is the latter, I'm afraid I'll probably pass, but if it's the former, I may actually try a return to an MMO. I'm more in the mood to hang around town and BS with friends than run around and slay X number of 'yet another mob of such-and-such design'.
MMO's have been naught but a disappointment to me since the end of PreCU, so any input regarding my question would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
  13. You don't need to adventure to be a great crafter or diplomat, the spheres are almost totally independent. You can max out crafting and be a level 1 adventurer.

When I was leveling my first crafter, one of the housing part quests took me into high level zone. All I did was hire a max level adventuring friend to take me through the area to get the brick.
  14. This is encouraging news! Thanks Jharl!
