Returning player (subbed >5 yr ago) - only 4 characters in list

    Hi,
I've recently returned to Vanguard after a long, long hiatus.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that my main 50 lesser giant DK was still active, along with my 46 dark elf necro (now 47), 46 qaliathari bard, and 25 dwarven cleric.
However, my login list shows "4/12" and I have the option to create more characters. I was informed in-game that this was due to my having subscribed before (and further confirmed by other threads in this very subforum).

On to the meat of the issue, I have the feeling that I'm missing a few characters from the year or so that I played back then.
Is there a way to check the past character roster on my account, and hopefully restore what was lost?
This is as much for the purposes of trying to regain my memory, as trying to reclaim my character progress.

If by some bizarre stroke of misremembering, all the lost characters were actually level 10 or below, and were legitimately wiped during the merges, then that's done and dusted and I apologize for the wasted time.

Oh, and somewhat unrelated but when I was a few minutes into the game and trying to get my bearings again, I mistakenly claimed two rather large bags and a couple other one-off things on the wrong character (my lowbie cleric).
That was totally an error on my end so I'm fine if it can't be fixed, but it would be beyond awesome if it was possible to shift the two bags onto my main dread knight.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I'm also thinking of returning after a very long period of hibernation. Telon is my home world and I have a few low 30's level's there ( War Cleric, Death Knight ) I was wondering how the player base is now and if there are any guilds recruiting for returning player's?

I'm not sure about the characters, Karv. All of my alts that I came back to after years and years of break-time were around level 12 but certainly over 10. But I'm not sure if I had any other alts.

As to the items claimed - you'd have to petition a GM to help with that issue. They're typically pretty helpful, but I'm not sure if they'll be able to swap all of the items for you. I believe I've heard they'll do one only - but I don't have any firsthand experience with that.

M'hael - There is a huge population of 50+ and a pretty decent population of new/returning/alts in all of the other ranges - certainly enough to run dungeons and the like on your way up if you're patient in finding a group.

As for guilds - open up your social tab (Default O, I believe), head on over to the guild tab - and then the Guilds LFM tab. There will be a full list of all guilds that are recruiting as well as mission statements for each and officers online that can invite. Good luck!

I jumped right back in and the waters fine. Had no problem finding a group of similar level players, although it may be only one or two full groups running ( that are posted in social anyway ). I leveled up 4 times in a week! from 21-25. I remembered it taking MUCH longer than that, but I'm not complaining!
I only had one real issue. The group was moving a little to fast for me too keep up, and I missed advancing certain parts attempting to keep up. By the time we were well into the last part of the hardest red labeled quest I had in my questbook, our party quickly wiped twice. The two fighters would just go, as soon as buffing was done. It was then I realized I was in Deathbringer's Mein stance. I had chosen the Death Affinity long long ago. I apologized for being such a terrible healer and was trying to explain I was on the wrong stance the entire time, lol. But there's always that one guy.. You know what I mean.. that guy. He said " Dude you should look at the updates, you can't be a death cleric " so I set my title to harbinger (death affinity title) I switched stances to be sure, I am without a doubt a "Death Cleric" and when I am in that stance, receive -90% to my heals, it is mainly for Solo, DPS etc. That guy insisted I was wrong, no matter what.. the group began to dis-band and I did also. Went to a cleric trainer and found the spells associated with Death Affinity, to be trained at higher level's. My point is, I felt like "that guy" was making me out to be the reason the raid failed, when he was running to his death at the first opportunity, not allowing me time to switch stances because he didnt beleive me. How do you handle situations like that?

there are idiots in every game, but as a general rule , VG players are helpful, and willing to discuss variety in strats and work with new or returning players. welcome back to the game.
