I'm new to the game. I had a brief run before it went F2P but now i want to play as much as i can before they shut it down. Coming from EQOA i feel Vanguard offers the closest experience to what i knew and loved. I want to play as a Vulmane because i LOVE the way they look, but looking at the high elf and gnome, it seems they offer more in the way of racial stats and such.

This doesn't seem like a game where i can just pick what i think looks cool though i wish i could lol. Which race would you guys recommend for a Druid?

I would disagree ... I think most people will tell you ... pick what you like. I think it all evens out as you get to higher level and you get some of the better high end gear.

At least that is what I remember veterans telling me.

So... What race did you pick?
Sorry to catch up to this post so late but I might add the Thestran Human has an interesting racial ability for casters that helps with the mana supply. They get a racial ability with a choice of three, damage, mitigation, and mana. My wife and I always used the mana one with her Druid and my Sorcerer.
Having said this, the high Elf gets an inate mana bonus so it may be the "best" choice BUT, in the end it doesn't really matter all the much and I have to say I totally agree with Morty.
Oh, one more thing I found with the two mentioned casters is that wisdom points equal more mana than energy points do. And after all the stats and abilities are considered when picking gear or whatever, we lived but the rule that a caster needs mana to "do" anything so, said again if you don't have mana you can't do anything!

    just my 2cp worth,
    :)

Depending on the class you chose, I'd pick the race most suited for that class.
Some of the more challenging classes are the Disciple and the Bloodmage. They are unique to Vanguard.
The disciple is a cross between monk and healer. The Bloodmage is a necro with healing abilities. Both loads of fun.

    Welcome to Vanguard!
