    I recently tried to report a CTD followed by death event. After reading some of the issues regarding /bug reporting I thought it would help if we had a better idea of what constitutes good information. For what it's worth, I experienced the same problem Apaelias did when I tried to /bug it. it failed because my message was too long. So please take a look at what I have considered for the report and let us know what is good and what is not helpful.

    Narrative of event.: While attempting to fly after rifting into the TK (trengal keep) chunk, I crashed to desktop. When I logged back into the game I was dead and my TS (tombstone) nowhere to be found, it could not be summoned to the altar in TK.. It turned out that the TS was actually in Renton Keep and under the world. I was only able to summon to an altar after killing myself again and summoning both tombstones (with the associated xp loss)

    Details.
    Character name
    Time of day
    location (chunk name , exact loc not available)
    Mounted / Unmounted (type of mount)
    Equipped Effects (too many to list and not all known at the time)
    Civic buffs (not all known and unavailable after death)
    Player buffs (not all known and unavailable after death)
    Temporary beneficial buffs (like XP pots,)

    Most of us provide the narrative and hopefully time of day / location. It is more problematic to provide the other details and would take a significant effort to include gear being worn (all character sheet tabs and bags)

    not long ago a gm was unable to return a missing item to someone because they didn't know the name of the item. This level of detail presents real problems , for example, I might say the Karax Axe. I have no clue what its actual name is.

    Do the people doing Q & A have access to our characters? I imagine it would be extremely difficult to reproduce an error generated by gear or effects if they don't have it to work with.

    Using the example provided above, please let us know what would be useful in resolving the event that occurred.

    Good post. I do find it interesting that in one post we are told many of us don't add enough information, but when we do, we can'g submit the ticket because of too much information.
    It would be nice to figure out what the fix for that is.

    Also about getting items back, and having to remember the name ... That's hard. I don't remember all my items names, even the ones I like the most.

    Might be nice to have the (players) site like they had for EQ, where you could transfer your characters equipment to the website with an in game slash command. That way a person could look to see what the items name was because they could look on the Players site.

    I realize this is a VERY small reason to have a Players site made again ... LOL, but I do wish we had one.

    Excellent post, Leavwiz!

    I know that when I have posted bugs before I have felt like a court stenographer trying to get the important stuff without the fluff in the minimal space available.

    A much better process would be extremely helpful, most especially when the size of our team is not that large and the players can fill gaps, eagerly, so as to make the game better.

    I am sure that the team is fully aware that chunks are crashing and people are dying while moving and corpses go missing and we CTD. Still the question remains, what can we do to help resolve the problems. I started this thread in the hopes of getting some kind of guideline on what we need to report to help the Q&A team / code team figure stuff out. Given the huge amount of potential causes. Could the team help by providing some kind of template based on how Q&A investigates?

    My firewall blocked Vanguard because of all the CTDs... Had to unblock to play again.
