Starter Island or Racial Homes?

So when you make your character up, do you start in the Isle of Dawn or the character's racial home? ;)

For me, I almost always start in the racial home location. Some of the areas are still pretty rough, but I simply love those starting locations. Kojan seems very bare, while Thestra and Qualia seem much more developed.

I am looking forward to a time when Kojan is more developed because the idea of great tree cities are so enchanting! :geek:

Tonight I am creating two new characters: A dwarf druid and a dark elf rogue...I am definitely going to start in the racial location for the dwarf, but may consider the Isle for the Rogue.

So last night I did just that, I created a dwarf druid named Grogbert Thunderstone and started him in his racial homeland. It was quite a good adventure. I got him to level 5 and look forward to playing the druid as it looks like a very fun class to play.

I also created a dark elf named Zarnia Darkblood, a nefarious rogue, starting her also in her racial homeland. I got her to level 5 as well, finding the rogue to be especially powerful and fun to play. Perhaps I should have started her on the Isle of Dawn, but I wanted to see where they would put me. I can't wait to get home and play her more, as she seems very fun.

Most of the racial areas are set up as we could piece together, since at Sunset, SOE got rid of all starter areas except IOD, Tursh, Tanvu, and Khal. That said, the Dark Elf area (Hathor Zhi) and gnome area (Mekalia) are the only ones we couldn't get the details of, and are not finished. You're going to run out of quests very quickly there.
