Sorry, if I am asking too many questions. I just wanted to know if there is a command for players to check if a specific chunk is on or off?

The reason I am asking is the following: I wanted to check out Barbara Cost because I used to have my house there. Just wanted to see if this little pillars for free houses are there although I know player housing is not done yet. It's the least important thing I just wanted to check out my old turf again.

Of course the chunk did not load because there is nothing there and I was probably the only one who wanted to go there.

Now I thought I was very clever because I remember from back then, if a player tried to enter a chunk it gets activated by the game after a few minutes. So I logged out and a few minutes later I logged back in ending in Strand of The Ancients of course. Instead of walking back into Barbara costs I tried to be clever again and use .rift. And that was fatal.
I ended falling into some kind of abyss, there was nothing there. I quickly tried to get out by .rift 1 and endung up dead on starter island. I saw my corpse but couldn't loot it.

So now Im afraid to port into some offline chunk again.

In the Emu, only a few chunks are kept online at all times. Mainly starter chunks and ones with large cities. Most chunks will shut down a few minutes after the last player has left. Most likely you just got unlucky with an internet hiccup or something. I rifted in and out of Baraba Coast a few times, leaving enough time for the shutdown in between.
