Firstly, I have to admit my total ignorance of the game development processes by which these things work, so please forgive me if this request is particularly ludicrous or bordering on idiotic.

My "wish" is for a single player offline mode. Just incase, God forbid, something (ANYTHING) happen to stop the continuation of this project, no matter how far into the future.

It's hard to explain just how much I love Vanguard. It's my all time favorite game, MMO or not. I was devastated when they shut Vanguard down, and I'm still incredibly vexed that this beautiful game didn't take over the entire MMO culture. Even now, with this AMAZING project, I just can't wrap my mind around why there isn't tens of thousands of people playing this game daily!

Okay, I could go on, but I won't. I'm just afraid that it might not be here forever, and my greatest wish would be to preserve this game, on a hard drive, for single player use, as a last resort, if there's any way that it's even possible.

Thanks for your time and patience, and THANK YOU SO MUCH for this wonderful project! You good people are doing such a great service for such a niche audience.

When we're done rebuilding the core components of the game, our intention is to make it so that anyone can download and run their own server. I don't know the technical details myself but I believe the devs are able to run it on their own machines. So in the future you should be able to do that, you just have to run the server as well as the client.
