Bug Date : 2016/01/16 12:53:50
Assigned To : Xinux
Priority : Medium

Category : VGClient
Sub-Category : Gameplay: Death
Severity : Standard
Reproducible : Every time
Details:
I'm experimenting with agro range with my chicks in IoD. If you approach one of my killer chickens, agro it and run away, the chicken will die.

1. .rift 1
2. .move -34563 -16306 1050
3. .setdev 0
4. Start running like hell SW back to town, cut left at the fork and run a short distance and turn around
5. Around -35704 -4031 242 the chicken will die, there will be a chicken corpse
6. Rinse/repeat if needed

Be quick when you turn around cause the corpse only lasts a few secs.

Note: There's really nothing special about my chickens other than I made some of them agro for testing. There are other agro mobs that you can use. This was just an easy path to look/test with.

I am changing our respawn timers back to 1 minute. While it's great to kill/respawn instantly, it's not working with the reloading process.

I've found how to exploit this as well.

If you don't run too fast away from the killer chickens, they will eventually disappear from your agro list, but remain in place and not repop.

If you run too fast away, that's when they die.

Is it just chickens or all mobs?

Well, just ran the same exact steps above, on the same exact chickens, and they now return home as expected when getting out of range.

I repeated those steps probably a dozen times earlier.

Maybe changing respawn timer had something to do with it?!?

Closing. Cannot replicate the issue. Respawn timer was changed from 5 secs to 1 min. (No proof that was the cause, but I'm going with it...)
