windows 10 issue with the launcher?
I updated my OS to windows 10 and now when I load the 2.02.1 version of the launcher I get an error trying to write to file C:\program files (x86)\Sony\Vanguard\bin\loginserver.txt
the text is 68.98.218.5
It will then let me load to the character screen and create a new character but then when I try to choose a town it does not give a server list.
Ideas?

Try right clicking the launcher and select run as administrator.
Re: windows 10 issue with the launcher?
Thanks Xinux. Tried that to no avail.
There is a block of text also showing IO stack issues? I think you are correct that somehow it isn't liking the admin rights on the new windows machine however should I reinstall the launcher to check?

Re: windows 10 issue with the launcher?
Try that if that does not work Try moving your VG folder out of program files (x86) to say the C: then point the launcher to the new location.

This is the likely solution, not the launcher. The launcher installs in 1 place only, can't be changed, and users should not move it around or the auto-updates will not work.
Moving the VG Client folder or setting "Everyone - Full Control" on the Sony folder should work.

Re: windows 10 issue with the launcher?
Thanks all for the suggestions. I have tried changing permissions and the new folder route. Clearly I am doing something fundamentally wrong. It no longer gives the error above when starting Launchpad but when I go to server select and choose new talon it lets me create a character there is still not a server list. At this point should I delete the 2 versions (program x86 and in my C: folders) and download the client and Launchpad again? Thoughts?
Re: windows 10 issue with the launcher?
I installed the launchpad 2.5 after uninstalling launchpad 2.0. Same issue. At this point should I just uninstall vanguard and reinstall the client then the launchpad in a W10 environment?
Re: windows 10 issue with the launcher?
You are using the client you downloaded from one of our links right and not the one from the the retail disks.
Re: windows 10 issue with the launcher?
Yes using the launchpad 2.5 from the link here. My client for the game was the last updated version before sunset. It had worked fine on my W7 install but when I upgraded to W10 is when the issue began. That is really my question should I just install the game client from links here and then go from there with a clean launchpad install as well. The 2.0 and 2.5 found the vg client I have but still has this issue after I've tried everything I know and described here to get the permissions correct.

I would just download the client from one of our links and point the new launcher to it.
