Moorgard to Answer Questions

I noticed Moorgard was over at the rerolled.org forums in the Vanguard thread. He was a developer for Vanguard at one point. Anyways, after bugging him to send us the VG database, I asked if he would mind answering a few questions to which he replied he would not. I told him I would message him in a few days with a (not huge) list of questions. Keep in mind, he has not been working on Vanguard for around two years so his memory may be a bit shoddy and/or may or may not be able to answer questions due to still working at SOE.
Anyways, I put this in the private section at first so the devs can post their questions first. I suppose John can move it over to General after a day or two so others can post questions. I'll compile a list of the best 10 to 15 questions (as to not scare Moorgard away) and post them. If agreed upon, I will send them Moorgard's way to be (hopefully) answered.
[I need to think of a question still and then I will post it.]

That isn't a bad idea if anyone of the Devs here have code questions that are bugging them but on the gameplay side of things, he wasn't there long and it was towards the end when things went downhill, a lot of people blame him for some of the bigger changes that ruined the gameplay like itemisation etc.
He seems like a nice enough guy though, hopefully he will be a help in some way to John and the team.

Hopefully he has a kickass visualization in his mind as to how PPOs work!
(I'll form this into an actual question).

How the parent_id of ppo's is created would be great to know.
Full list of opcodes with there number would be nice. LOL
I'm sure i will think of some more.

[High Importance]
"Can you provide any clues as to the relationship between the character attributes and combat calculations, such as damage, hit chance, crit chance, mitigation/resistance and the various avoidance chances"
"Regarding PPOs, it seems like the parent_id of an item placed in a house is generated by a calculation at runtime (Hash). Is this true? Can you give us any clues as to what the function and its inputs look like?"
"Care to help us identify a few Unknown parameters in our list of OpCodes?"
[Low Importance]
"Terrain Meshes: a quick look through the chunk .vgr files has left some to believe the mesh information is not located there. Did we miss it or are terrain meshes stored elsewhere? We would need this to create a navigation mesh for pathing."
"Was the client rewritten to only allow connection to a single World Server? If not, do you know what has to happen for a VGO Client to access characters on multiple servers?"
This question is actually high importance, but I don't think I can provide enough detail in a one-liner for this to be answerable. Maybe skip this one. We have an interim solution that I actually don't mind.

I can tell you if he answers this he will probably say it has always been this way where the worldserver housed all of there server information which would then pass you off to the correct chunkserver after you selected your character and hit play.

I am really curious to see just how far he is willing to go as far as giving clues and answers.
I think its awesome that he even responded in a positive .

Let's skip that one, then. Perhaps we can mimic that at some point, but the interim solution is easy and effective.

Anyone else? Could John move this to General for others to post questions?

I beg your pardon. The wealth of gratitude from me alone exceeds any monetary gain you might acquire otherwise.
