Bug 336: (John Adams) Incorrect Trainers in Go Train
Bug ID : 336 - Incorrect Trainers in Go Train Bug Date : 2015/12/07 02:03:02 Assigned To : John Adams Priority : High Category : VGClient Sub-Category : Gameplay: Quest Severity : Standard Reproducible : Every timeDetails:
This "bug" may be on purpose, because you only implemented the heavy fighter skills, but just to be sure:
The quest "go train" from Sixfish only sends you to Koi Fen the heavy fighter instructor and not to the corresponding class trainer (in my case light fighter).
((but who cares, i could do my first quests in VG. Thanks alot!))

Need someone to get to the bottom of the Class IDs for archetypes. They are definitely not what we expect, because heavy fighters are being sent to light fighter trainers, and vice versa.

In addition to the last bug report about being send to the heavy fighter trainer with the quest "go train". After turning in the quest, the npc "Koi Fen"offered me the quest "return to sixfish", but had no questsign above the head. Instead the trainer for light fighters "Haun Willowmoon" had this questsign, but no quest to offer.

Bug ID : 334 - I'm running the quest series a... Bug Date : 2015/11/29 06:28:25 Assigned To : John Adams Priority : Low Category : VGClient Sub-Category : Gameplay: Quest Severity : Standard Reproducible : Every timeDetails:
I'm running the quest series again. Sixfish just instructed me to go train. I'm standing in the training area, and the Light Fighter instructor has a green quest icon, and the heavy fighter instructor has none (I am a heavy fighter). When I click on Haun, she offers me "Go Train" with a green check mark. As soon as I complete the quest, her icon goes away, and the heavy fighter instructor gets a yellow quest icon. The Light Fighter instructor dialog is still open from the quest completion, and she is offering me "Return to Veteran Sixfish." Sixfish has a green icon over his head, before heading up there, I hailed the heavy fighter instructor to see what quest he has for me (yellow icon and all). His dialog does not offer me any quest. However, this time through I am able to continue the series (perhaps because I didn't try to buy anything?).

Oops. I have to update my last bug. The "trainer" whose Icon was green was the Haun Willowmoon, the light fighter trainer (I'm a DK). She offered me the "Go Train" quest, which I completed for XPs. Only then did I notice that Kol Fen Lifecutter (the heavy fighter trainer) also had a quest (yellow icon) for me. He does not offer me a quest in the dialog, despite having a yellow quest icon over his head. He also does not offer to train me in anything.

Re: Bug 336: (John Adams) Incorrect Trainers in Go Train
As you can see, there are quite a lot of bugs reported about the exact same thing. Testers should be checking Bug Tracker before submitting a bug to keep from wasting their time duplicating what has already been reported.
Re: Bug 336: (John Adams) Incorrect Trainers in Go Train
This is fixable in the spawn scripts, if someone wants to take a look. Would be good practice for a content developer. If they can access the scripts and modify them. It sounds like one of the trainers has an incorrect prereq quest so is offering his quest inappropriately. In game it will tell you in the chat what archetype it thinks you are. You can look at the script flow and see if Veteran Sixfish is acting correctly.

Re: Bug 336: (John Adams) Incorrect Trainers in Go Train
Thanks, zippy. As long as it's all Lua and not some #define in code for the IDs, I'll get one of the purples to fix it.
Re: Bug 336: (John Adams) Incorrect Trainers in Go Train
I tried to make this more obvious in my post
Re: Bug 336: (John Adams) Incorrect Trainers in Go Train
It sounds like the prereq quest in the Quest Lua script he offers is not the one that sends a character to him in 'Go Train'. To be clear, the icons above the head are determined by the Quest Lua scripts, and the actual interaction is determined by the Spawn Lua script, so they do not necessarily go hand-in-hand, which does help track down the issue.
