VGOEmulator.net

As the title says, I've been researching for a few days now and I finally came across a post made back in 2015 stating that they were revoking access to private servers (running your own server). However, that has been 5-6 years, any chance of us being able to ever run our own servers?

I ask because I run my own EQ server and I love updating and changing things. It'd be pretty friggin awesome to revamp VG to my likings. Thanks!

We revoked access to people downloading the server because we ran into an issue where people were taking up our time with issues running the server, but weren't contributing anything to our development. We decided at that point that we would only give copies of it to our development team.

We do intend to allow people to download it when we're done with it. But we're still not done. The Devs are still trying to rebuild it. If you want to help us rebuild it and join our development team, you'd get a copy. Otherwise, it's no where near done and your best bet is to wait.

What "exactly" do you need help with?

I ask because I played VG before it went offline and I helped with certain dungeons (Hps, stats, etc) with bosses (that was what the person was asking of me that said they were trying to gather as much information before the shut down). I am not sure who that was, tbh. However, I was 3-boxing at the time so I was able to do a lot myself. My luck, it wasn't even one of you guys.

I've been playing your server for the past few days and I am up to level 20ish and I haven't really ran into issues yet, however I am only doing certain quest / parts of the map as well.

We are the group that was doing packet collection before sunset, and used that as the base of our content.

I am limited on C++, however I do know more with lua/pearl. Either way I will definitely check out the discord and see if I could help in any way possible.
