Progress?
Hey guys,
Disclaimer: I am in no way trying to stress you or moan about anything (aside the nerd in me that really wants to play again)
This is purely a question of curiosity. How far are you guys? I asked in the beginning of the year and the roadmap said around 2016 (pending slackery). This still holding true?
Also, anything one can do to help? I have zero programming skills mind you

Re: Progress?
There are a lot of things going on internally to make the code easier for us to work on in the long run. There's no doubt it will be some time before Vanguard is "Vanguard".
I will say we are working on the spells/abilities system as a priority right now, and the majority of the Quest system is implemented and functional internally.
We will get to a point where we need (much more) community help with the content and details. The team is pretty small but we keep chugging along. We have no timelines in place so you will just have to keep watching and see for yourself how it progresses.
See you in New Telon,
Zippyzee

Re: Progress?
We need community help NOW!!
Wiki - before we forget everything and every other site with VG info is taken down
Content - need a team to actually put content into the game, everything from sign posts to NPCs
Testers - always need people to log in to test newly released features, that's an ongoing need
Which of these will you help with?

Haiku is easy -
But sometimes it makes no sense.

Re: Progress?
Anything - just tell me where and how. If i can learn how to put content into the game, that would probably be something i would be able to do. Again i just need to learn how

@Moldew
I will be happy to help for wiki/content. I just need precise targets. My own server VGtest could be used for that also.

Re: Progress?
Something that could help things along would be to post a guide on how to report bugs or even how to find them. Maybe keep an updated list of what has been tested to pieces and what still needs a LOT of testing. For instance, i know combat is basically the newest thing, so when i hop in, thats what i test. Someone who is brand new here would have difficulty figuring that out without searching through months old forum posts.
What sort of wiki information do you guys need? How should we go about finding it and reporting it back to you in a manner that isnt the forum equivalent of dumping 500 pages of work for you to sift through on your desk?
Would you prefer bug reports to be in a forum post, a separate post for each bug, or an in-game bug report? If so, is there a format you'd like us to stick to? For instance, should we include more information about the situation we are describing in order to better help you find where the buggy code is? Things such as items we were wearing? time? class and race? level? zone?
I think a good consolidated list and most importantly a list of what feature you'd like tested the most could help streamline the process.

Re: Progress?
You mean like the Project Manager and Bug Tracker portal apps I wrote that we've been using since the start of the project?
Re: Progress?
Even with video instructions on the PM and BT stuff I don't think they would get much traction *just being realistic from what we have seen during data collects*
For the non-self starters or those that are just timid to do so, someone might be needed to delegate and direct efforts in this arena.

Re: Progress?
I'd honestly like to help if i could. But i am in no way tech savvy. Something specific in-game or out of game would be what i need to get to work on anything. I basicly just paly the game with no idea how the actual codes work.
