Just Curious...
Hello Everyone,
I am new here, so forgive me... I have been looking around to see what we are actually capable of doing in game, but the only thing I can seem to find is the current ''features list'. Is that correct? I have two toons, one on New Telon and one on Apocalypse. Should I have done that? I can log in just fine and seem to have no issue staying logged in, which is great.
I can't seem to do anything else tho. Skills don't seem to work (the ones we are given to start off with) and interacting with NPC's or Mobs has no real effect. Maybe I am rushing things? haha... I am very excited to be back in Telon so forgive me if I am a little too pushy.
There also seems to be no one else online? Just wondering. So, what can we actually do in game atm? Run around and enjoy the scenery at this point (I am ok with that... )? I would like to help identifying bugs and what not, but without the capability to really do anything, everything seems like a bug to me?
Thanks for any feed back!

Welcome
We haven't been working on this very long so there is only a few things currently working since we have to build the entire server side from scratch.
You can basically
Run around and enjoy the scenery
equip and unequip items, inventory and bank functions and various slash commands like /who etc etc. You can talk to npc but right now they are just returning a basic script and merchants will display a list of items but it's just using a temp list of the items in your inventory. Combat is about as basic as it comes since we haven't started on that system really yet. You can also train skill's and forms but using them isn't implemented yet.
We are making good progress but it's going to take some time to have a playable game.

Hey Xinux,
Thank you for the reply. I did not mean to sound pushy at all. I have seen the basic script from NPCs. That seems to work fine. I have also tried interacting with merchants, however, since there is nothing in my inventory as a new character, there is nothing showing in their windows, correct? Also, combat doesn't seem to do anything for me at all. I'll click a skill on a mob, and I go through an animation, but the mob or me really don't do anything. I am assuming that is what you mean by as basic as it comes?
Take all the time you need. I'll be here waiting. How can I help then if there really isn't anything I can do in the game just yet? Does it matter which server I am on? Should I just be looking for world mesh bugs and things like that?

Who is Slappy, I want to know the backstory.

Re: Just Curious...
I feel like Slappy is the hatred and angst of early VG developers, coalesced into a tiny entity that goes out of his way to enrage any player he appears nearby.

That about sums it up nicely.

You can find a Telon Exchange vendor in most major cities and "buy" any items you wish during the data analysis phase. You do not need to be naked forever.

I know people have a laugh and think this is a joke but we actually had people leave VG over this, I lost some good friends and it brings back a lot of bad memories for a lot of people sadly.
It was implemented at a point in the game where things changed for the worst, it does not belong in VG at all and that sound is associated with mind numbing SoD boss kills and being forced to dance at a whim, usually by young people or annoying people, both of which a lot of us avoided.
That sound and what Slappy/Scrappy stand for was the beginning of the end for our favorite game, which we are now trying to rebuild here. It sounds melodramatic but I assure you it has a very negative impact on a lot of people in this community, myself included.
I really hate that thing, even hearing that sound changed my mood from happy to remembering all the bad thing that happened in VG after that stupid thing was implemented.
To try and explain it a little better, it's like going to a loved ones funeral and hearing a song played as you watch them filled with emotions, then every time you hear that song again you think of them, that is similar to what Slappy does to a lot of us.
