Could New Telon be a progression server?

Re: Could New Telon be a progression server?
I don't think the 50-55 gap matters at all. It makes no difference, but it could be made less of a grind since everyone just sat in a kite grp for 5 lvls anyways. It is very possible to start POTA/KDQ with APW/50-cap overland mobs' gear. That's what every player on live did. I did enjoy the 50-55 abilities but I wish that it was more fun to lvl from 50-55. Sitting in a kite grp was kind of lame. Rebalancing every piece of gear and mob would involve adjusting all the NPCs and I would think that's a lot more work than just making 50-55 faster xp.
One thing I would like to see is more classes able to farm KDQ than just sorcs.
I think that allowing a progression-style exploration of the game would be more fun for new players. This would help make use of the content that's in the game instead of people just skipping it. Trivial content makes new players disinterested and confused if they aren't lucky enough to have good guides.
The best way to experience content is when that content is at it's most relevant point in the games timeline. Progression allows all the content it's time to shine for new and old players to enjoy.

It doesn't matter to you or make a difference to you but that doesn't mean it doesn't matter or make a difference to others.
People choose to be lazy and sit in kite groups, it was however, the slowest way to earn exp/slivers/faction other than a few classes who couldn't solo. Groups of 3-6 were much more efficient in gaining exp/slivers/faction without question. I don't want to see every class solo in SoD, I play a Rogue as my main and I couldn't solo out there efficiently and that is how it should be in an MMORPG, it promotes player interaction and required that I gain help from others to obtain my goals.
I can go and play Skyrim or similar games if I want to solo end game content. This should not be the case in an MMORPG like VG.

On a private server, sure, on New Telon, no thanks. New Telon will be as close as possible to the original VG experience, for any changes that alter that experience, other than a few bug fixes and tweaks here and there, people should create their own servers or join ones they like the description of.

Again, this would be good for players who enjoy that type of experience but put it on a progression server, not the official server.

In your opinion that is. My opinion differs from yours and I would rather New Telon be kept as close to the original experience as possible and let other private servers branch off and do what they want, nothing is stopping you from creating your own server Lamprey but New Telon is not the place for changes like this.

Re: Could New Telon be a progression server?
To chime in on the New Telon point; The official VGO Project server (New Telon) will be 1-50 at "release", because this project admin favors the majority of the community, who have a seething hatred of 51-55. However, a fully playable Vanguard game is so far into the future, I cannot even see the leading edge of it...
Something you all need to keep in mind when making "content wishes" -- just because you want to play VG, doesn't mean everyone wants to. Meaning, by the time we get to anything close to a completed state for this game, the population could be minimal. It's just human nature to move on. With an unobtainable client, recruiting players will be even harder than normal. This is something we have to consider when designing our content. If you are the only player, I cannot see you staying interested if you cannot finish the a quest yourself.
