Vg Client Launcher for 32-bit OS
Not sure about the rest of you guys, but a part of the nostalgia or charm of this great game is the ability to play it on the old computers of its time.
I have an old Alienware Area-51 M7700 gaming laptop and it has windows Xp 32bit on it. I use it for all my really old games that don't run properly on windows 7.

Would it be possible to convert the launcher into a X86 platform?

VGClientLauncher is set to run on "Any CPU", so it should not be having a problem with x86 CPUs. Just to be sure, I recompiled it just now.
Attached. PS: The source code is on the Tools SVN. Feel free to do anything you wish with it.

Even with this newly recompiled version I'm getting the same "-VGClientLauncer.exe is not a valid Win32 application" error I got with the other version.
As far as the source code goes I have no idea what to do with it.
The processor in my old alienware is a 3.4ghz Prescott P4 with HT. It is obviously Win XP 32bit.
As a side note, Vanguard runs pretty damn good on this laptop using the old launcher before we got shut down. Better then the computer that I had when VG first came out lol.

It might be a .net compatibility issue, I think XP only goes up to .net 4. Make sure the .net framework 4 is installed and try this build.

I updated the laptop to .net 4.0 and the version you linked works! I'm able to log in and everything as it should be.
Thanks!

Cool, thanks Foof. When I update the Launcher (soon) I will be sure to drop it back to 4.0. There's nothing in 4.5 I need.

Just a side note. The version foof gave me i ran before updating .net and it only gave me a .net error for not having an up to date version. The other versions gave the not valid win32 application error. He must have changed something other then just the .net version.
Either way, good to have a launcher I and maybe other people can use if they are running a windows xp 32-bit machine.

Nah, this is probably just microsoft being stubborn about not supporting XP. They went as far as to not even allow XP to show the correct error message apparently lol.
