This should probably be a server rule. Allow the serverop the ability to shut off furious on mobs below level of dots. so if set to 5 only 5-dot and higher mobs will furious. I know there were a couple of trash mobs around RI that would furious as well as the 51+ mobs, although it was only certain ones and you learned which they were pretty quickly.

Agreed on getting rid of furious from trash, especially the KDQ mobs. It was generally annoying.

I believe VG had these as well. Some mobs would Rage or Flurry. You could get gear/augments to help negate this as well.

Masuke Whitewind is a good example--first shot is pretty much fatal without an invuln, he goes furious every something like 47 seconds, also has flurry attacks and a type of poison to 15 meters. While not a top-end fight, it's pretty fun if you are not in a top-end guild.

I agree it was well overdone placing it on so many trash mobs, but I would not mind if it had a low/random (10-15% chance) of happening. I totally don't understand why it should reflect melee damage but not spells, perhaps caster type mobs should have a chance of reflecting spell damage.

But I wouldn't cry if it was totally erased from trash.

Not sure if it was said but... I believe there were also some 48/49 mobs that had FURIOUS as well. I recall some Ifritti trash in Rahz that did this too. Stuff that had nothing to do with the 51+ content 'package'.

But then, VG's devs had a habit of applying changes to wide swaths... The shadowhound changes for example (they buffed the 50+ shadowhounds with some pretty nasty attacks and every other one got it too, including the ones for the mount quest which made that quest line significantly harder).

As far as I could tell, virtually every level 50+ mob in the game went furious at 20% of health. I was boxing my own small group in Nusibe when I first figured it out. If the mob was 50, it would get furious. At 49, not, even if it was the same type of mob. I'm not sure about RI. The prevalence of damage shields in there made it too hard for me to box (at least using light fighters, of which I had a lot).

Good riddance to furious on trash mobs, I say.
