Server Admin Guide
Can someone please review this Server Admin Guide and give me feedback of ways to make it clearer, or to correct anything invalid? I've noticed a number of new worlds coming on line since sunset, and they are having much difficulty connecting (though only a couple have posted their scenarios).

I'd like this to be as effortless as possible. I believe my port documentation is accurate, though it could be causing some problems.
Thanks for your help.

Maybe change this
In your router/firewall, you need to set up port forwarding for (at the minimum) ports 10100 and 10194 UDP, and 10102 TCP.

Since people seem to be having issues with ports that should cover more then enough.

Done, thanks. Hoping some of the struggling admins who just fought to set up servers will chime in here. I'd like to learn from their pain.

John
Can you confirm that the VGO_WORLD.sql is the only SQL you need to run - i.e do you also need to run the opcodes.sql or any other SQL?
Also - I know you Foof is proposing a new way of matching/not matching the login server characters to the character table - but it may be worth
pointing out somewhere that if the world database is recreated - you will have orphans on the login server - and I think this causes issues when you
next try to connect - as the login server will try to retrieve details on the users - but won't find any rows for that char id in the table.

Re: Server Admin Guide
John - additionally - the admin guide quickstart guide talks about getting the source and compiling the code - but wouldn't a 'quicker' quickstart be just to download the precompiled binary vgworld.exe file - which is what I have done.

Re: Server Admin Guide
Seems to be an issue, that you can create a char on a new server. But if another server is active, you cant connect to your server.
Is there a port that is being used, that is not unique between servers?
We see (jimbo) and I, as soon as no other servers are active, we can connect to the world.
Rgds
Axis.
