Account id number shouldn't be a issue. Can you post your configuration you have set in the xml files.

He did, it was at the bottom of his pic posts.
jimbo, are you guys using our VGClientLauncher.exe to launch the client? You have to do this to reach our LoginServer. This might be why theFoof could connect and you could not.
Go to this forum and make sure you are running VGClientLauncher.exe, point it to your VGClient.exe (in the Vanguard\bin folder).
Also, remember how stupid Win7/Win8 are, if your files are installed under a protected location (C:\Program Files) Windows likely removes the very important file we write to get you to connect with us. That file is called "loginserver.txt" and has to be in the Vanguard\bin folder with your VGClient.exe

Opening that file, it MUST look like this:

Lastly, my ports that are open as follows: Basically,

Lastly, my ports that are open as follows: Basically,
- I have ports 10194 - 10294 open both UDP and TCP (from when we were developing the netcode) That is VGOChunkTCP and UDP (top 2 lines)[/*22n9inrg]
- Then I have LoginUDP, because I have to listen for you guys to connect. That is UDP port 10101. You should not need this one.[/*22n9inrg]
- I also listen for your Worlds on TCP 10102, that is your world connecting to my Login. I believe you need this open TCP 10102 as well for my login to talk back to you.[/*22n9inrg]
- Lastly, my world (New Telon) that you connect to accepts connections on UDP 10100 - so you need this open, which it must be or theFoof could not have connected.[/*22n9inrg][/list:u]
There is the slight possibility your ISP is blocking something, but I doubt it (since foof got in). It just occurred to me, you have to be using VGClientLauncher.exe, because you connected to New Telon earlier and talked to me... so, I am out of ideas.
Re: Waiting on Data from World Server
Hi - a little more info - I had a user from the USA manage to get in - did nothing at all to my server. Which implies that it may be something happening to the UDP or TCP packets from our direction only ??? if that's possible
Could it be a 'time to live' issue on the call? - Could it be a directional issue?
I've got my brother to run wireshark while I attempted to click on a char that was created on his server - and we did not see ANY data come in from your login
We do see traffic from our server to your login server = but nothing when we try to bring up the Character on the login screen
You've got two very experienced IT Professionals scratching their heads
Jim
Is it possible to have the client module hand off to the World - without trying to get the Character details? - as I think once its handed off it will probably work ok

Re: Waiting on Data from World Server
Foof, all of his configs look fine to me. I think he should open ports 10194 to 10294 like you suggested and like my example (for chunk servers). 1 is not enough.
I see this spammed every second in my login log:
Meanwhile, others are connecting to New Telon and making characters fine.
So login/world are working over here, and login/world are working from the USA to Australia.
He has everything set up properly. I do not know what else to suggest, and the fact it's 2 people in the same country with this problem, I am at a loss.

Re: Waiting on Data from World Server
Heh fellas - Its working - but I don't knw what I did - all I can remember is having the world login port set to 60150 - just seeing if it would make a difference - then while the client was still trying to connect - I shut it down - changed the port back to 10100 - and restarted the server - and bingo - I started seeing messages - and my Char portraits appeared. I've since shut everything down and restarted and it still works - but my brother - DOWNUNDER server - is still not having any luck.
Re: Waiting on Data from World Server
OK - we think we have solved it - Mine started working when New Telon went off line - So after a bit of mucking about I shut my server down and my brother started his server (i.e so it was the only one online ) and Voila ! - it worked - seems only one can work at a time? - Bug or Feature?
Re: Waiting on Data from World Server
Last entry for today - after getting the code version from 1/8 to work okay - except for some reason on my world I could not see people move - could just see them suspended in the air - whereas on New telon - I saw people move around (well one person). SO I thought I'd download the latest code releases from SVN - deleted my chars - recreated the database. - and now I get the following error when I try to log a character in --
22:24:07.928 I Net New Session: Account ID: 99 Session ID: 'mbqudtqkqi2gt06s5mt588fal1'

Re: Waiting on Data from World Server
I'll post here what I just told the devs elsewhere so you all know.
Xinux thinks he discovered is that the character list retrieved will grab the first server_id in the list and use it for all characters in the list, regardless of where they exist.
Xinux thinks he discovered is that the character list retrieved will grab the first server_id in the list and use it for all characters in the list, regardless of where they exist.
- Ie., If the first character in your list is a New Telon character, and your 2nd is YourServer_01, the second character tries to retrieve it's data from New Telon, thus "waiting on..."
[/list:u]
This seems unlikely to me because Login knows the server_id, and there can only be 1 server with a given name. But now that the crash crisis is on hold, I can look deeper into the character list issue.
Re: Waiting on Data from World Server
Sorry if I'm messing your system up. I usually check this site before I log in to see if there is a note to not log in. Sometimes things start bugging me about n game things that I can't remember so I log in to see what stuff looks like. Really nonessential at this point, so just tell me to piss off if I get in the way.
