Temporary Pegasus

Hi, I'm stuck trying to complete the final quests on the Isle of Dawn. I rent a temporary Pegasus from the NPC to fly up to the temple but every time I try to summon the mount it just disappears. I have tried about 10 times now but its still not working.

It was working earlier and on all my alts but my goblin Psionicist seems bugged...character name is Brain Damage.

Any ideas on how to get up there to complete the quest series?

Can you walk us through the process of what you're doing to use the pegasus? I know this might seem dumb, but none of us have been able to replicate this problem that comes up every now and then. And we're not getting a whole lot of information about what a player is doing that makes it happen. If we can reliably make it happen, we'd be closer to fixing it.

To move the Pegasus to the character mount slot are you clicking it from your inventory, or are you dragging it there yourself?

To summon the Pegasus, are you clicking it directly from the character info mount slot, or was it dragged to a hotbar for easy access?

Are you clicking the buff in the upper corner of the screen at any time?

Do you see the "Summon Pegasus" progress bar at any time?

When you get the message about it being removed, was there a message on the line above about the buff not being found?

This has now been fixed by not dragging the icon to hotbar, just summoning by clicking icon on the ui

Which icon were you dragging? From inventory to hotbar or from buff to hotbar?

I have a very similiar bug where the mount graphic doesn't show up but i get the runspeed bonus. It happens in every zone in game that i have been in. The only way i have been able to fix it is to go across a zoneline when i am on the mount. Usually after going across the zoneline the mount will be drawn ingame as the screen refreshes.

I had a similar thing happen last night. I got the free Pegasus and used it to do the scout locations quest, it worked fine. I was close to level 10 so I went to level up for the new spells before going into the temple. When I returned to buy a Pegasus it took the money and put the Pegasus in my inventory. I right clicked the icon in my inventory, it was equipped in the characters mount slot. I right clicked the icon in the character mount slot, like I've done before, this time it removed the icon instead. It said something about the Pegasus Buff not being found? I tried three times, once after logging out to the character select screen then back in, and it did it all three times. I sent a bug report, but don't know if it even went through because I may have had a connection issue around that time. After I sent the report I was just gonna go to a camp and kill things for awhile but I noticed nothing was working. I couldn't cast anything at all, mobs wouldn't attack me and I couldn't attack them, etc. I wasn't booted from the game, I was still running around, but it was like no information was being sent or received for what I was doing. I quit the game completely, restarted, and everything was fine. I bought the Pegasus and was able to use it and finished the temple.

I am currently seeing this issue. That is I summon the Pegasus by right-clicking from my toolbar (or from the mount window). The summon bar appears, I see the swirling graphic around my toon, and the 9m timer icon appears, but I do not see the actual Pegasus, thous I seem to have a run speed bonus equivalent to the Pegasus mount speed, and do not take falling damage. I equip the Peghasus by right-clicking it from my inventory, and see it present in my mount window.

This only just started happening (earlier in the day I was doing the Scouting the Island quest with the Pegasus just fine)

However I have noticed that trying to use the mount icon from the toolbar can be a bit flaky, that is it doesn't always work (sometime the icon in the toolbar is simply unresponsive)

I have tried clearing all my buff effects, logging out (actual 30-second, formal camp out) and rebooting the PC to no avail.

Q: To move the Pegasus to the character mount slot are you clicking it from your inventory, or are you dragging it there yourself?

A: Clicking from inventory

Q: To summon the Pegasus, are you clicking it directly from the character info mount slot, or was it dragged to a hotbar for easy access?

A: From the toolbar, then later from the mount slot directly

Q: Are you clicking the buff in the upper corner of the screen at any time?

A: I have tried that to clear the mount, then re-purchasing from the mount vendor

Q: Do you see the "Summon Pegasus" progress bar at any time?

A: Yes, the summon bar appears as normal, and the summon effects and sounds play out as normal too.

One additional note: I had been using a run speed buff earlier in the day that I obtained as part of a quest (it was some 3x use potion whose name i forget). The item's use did come in between my play session were I successfully used the Pegasus mount for the scouting quest and when I first started seeing the problems summoning later.

I am stuck for now, unable to complete the final quests at the temple on IOD since I cannot fly up there, dunno if anything can be done. In the meantime I will fire up another character and try out one of the continental starting areas instead.

At this point if you're having trouble mounting, start removing worn gear. If you have anything in appearance, take it off. Keep removing gear and then try to mount.
