Vanguard loads but...

... I get white texture everywhere! First it was just my shield, eyes, some post or tree, then I tried to change some graphic option and everything became white besides the sky. Any idea about what could it be? I don't have my client anymore so I downloaded it. I tried with two different downloaded clients and the problem stays the same.

Regards,

I had a similar problem a while ago. The loading screens would be all white and there was a kind of "overexposed" look in a lot of places. I found that my "Tone mapping" was turned on and when I turned it off it looked perfect. Might give that a try.

Sounds like that or hardware occlusion. Check those.

Apologies for the bumping, but just run into the same issue and none of the above has helped.

Tone mapping, hardware occlusion, character occlusion, both occlusions, the lot combined, each and every setting individually turned off and on, nothing. Rinse and repeat with total client shutdowns, again no change. Also checked Nvidia control panel just to make sure, there's not even an entry for Vanguard, so that's out too.
Out of options :)

And it's like the OP mentions, i can see the shaders/post-FX working, the issue's the actual textures; everything is a uniform white, with the exception of two things: The sky (loads perfectly) and the NPC tags (which are clearly visible); all else is a nice crispy white.

Win10 64bit, 1709 plus some updates
GTX 1080
i7-6900k
32Gigs of RAM
All drivers up to date
(attaching DX log just in case it helps)

First suggestion is to clear VG's cache. In the Vanguard/bin folder, delete the 'Caches' folder so it regenerates them on next start.

Can also try getting a fresh copy from our download link from http://wiki.vgoemulator.net/Docs/Guides:VGClient , make sure to place it in a new folder so there's nothing being carried over in case there's a corrupt file in the current install.

Hi Onca,

The latter already stands, i've (re)downloaded the copy you've uploaded in Google Drive; will try deleting the caches folder however and post back.

(would also remind of the uploaded DxDiag report above)

I've gone ever your DXDiag and we are running mostly the same versions of drivers except I have a GeForce GTX 970.

Try this go to Vanguard\bin find the file VGClient.ini and delete it or rename it then start up vanguard and log in the file will be recreated once you start the game.

Hello again :)
Appreciate the quick response! Although am afraid this has not helped; deleted the file (read: kept it in the recycle bin just in case), run launcher, run client, left everything default and selected character. Exact same thing when it logged me in, even at the default 640x480 or whatever it is, lol. Said same uniform whiteness.

Am beginning to think my goblin is just too tall for this client; it cannot compute my TALLEST splendor. The downsides of being so unique, alas.
