Bugged Artisan Quest

I was doing this quest today as a new Blacksmith;
"Artisan Saga: Fortify the Perimeter - 7528" on the Isle of Dawn, it requires that I make 3 grade B Rigged Structural Reinforcements and use them, to reinforce 3 houses n Tentrees village. I made them and reinforced the houses and the game acknowledged that the houses were reinforced but said I had only made 1 structural reinfoecrement! I made 7 more, all grade B and game still says I had only made 1! I can't get past this quest to carry on with the Artisan saga!

This is a limitation that we're currently suffering from in VGO. The top of the quest states this for exactly this reason:

[[Designer's Notice: Currently there is no way for us to set up these quests where you have to obtain an item and use an item without weird workarounds. For now you must create all the items for this quest first and then reinforce the buildings. We will hopefully have the proper functionality soon. -Jakkal]]

Whenever we have an issue like this that requires some kind of workaround we put it in the quest text. For now you need to drop the quest and retake it and follow the instructions.

The devs did recently give us a new function to address this issue so I will try setting it up. But please, in the future, when you're having trouble, read the quest text. A lot of bug reports that come in can be resolved if people would read the quest text.

I have updated the quest with the new code and it appears to be working if you make an item, use the item, and return to make another item. You'll still have to drop and retake the quest if you want to complete it.

OK thanks, I made then installed item 3 times rather than making 3 items then installing them. I got fed up with constantly failing to make the grade B items due to continuous complications making me run out of action points. I had 7 seperate complications on one item and that was when I said stuff it and let's install what I have made and come back to crafting when I have calmed down and quit swearing at the game.

Has something been changed in the crafting process? I don't remember ever having so many complications appear like this before.

No, that's the way it's been. In live VG, the complications were divided into tiers, and if you got one complication, it usually didn't pop up again. In VGO all complications are available, so you could get a T4 complication on a T1 recipe. And the abilities to remove complications are based on skill values, so if you're only t1, but you get a t4 complication, you might not have the skill necessary to have the ability to remove it.

This is all in the Testing VGO post along with the crafting post. It's part of why I say that crafting is in a very early, rudimentary state. I can't control how the crafting itself works, that's all up to the devs.

Alternatively, all the items for the quest should be on the exchange, you could rift over to a town that has the exchange, buy the rest of the crafted items, and rift back to IOD. I'd at least create one of the items to make sure it's all working before I do that though.
