If anyone has a issue getting the client to launch and is using the amd ryzen threadripper 1950x cpu you will need to use something like Process Lasso https://bitsum.com/ and set VGClient.exe to always run in single-threaded performance mode.

Updated directions, just select a single core for vanguard, works with my Ryzen 3950x.
