Hey there
Hey there, looking to help out where I can. I also intend to run my own server.
I played vanguard from first beta to about a month after launch. During the end of beta I actually won the boat race around the continent and got a free boat when the game went live. The game was awesome but lacked depth in the 40's. I made a couple characters to try different continents, it was fun, but eh. I like the group mentality where you get together with a group of players and xp on monsters for hours on end, special monsters with special loot, involved quest systems, and special event content.
Why I can help?
I have years in mmo development experience. I know c++, vb, and luascript. I have deveopment and test machines. I have fast internet. Right now I run and maintain an ffxi server with about 200 players. However I want to branch out. FFXI is fun as hell, but the world is a bit limiting as to what you can do. Vanguard offered a much more versitile world, which I can take advantage of to create content.
My setup...
Currently running 5 PE1950's with dual E5430 cpu's and 24gb ram each, that are clustered together as VM hosts. VM storage is a PE2950 with 2x73gb 10k SAS in raid1, and 6x240gb Intel 530 SSD's individual. Long term storage is a supermicro 60tb NAS. Each VM host has 4gbps nic's, VM storage has 10gb nic, NAS has 6tb nic. Switches are Nortel Baystack 5520-48T enterprise layer 3 switches. Router is a PFSense box with 2 quad core xeons and 8gb ram. Primary internet is verizion fios 75/75 internet, with comcast 35/35 backup.

Welcome!
Re: Hey there
Very impressive setup. It's amazing how many businesses don't have that good of a setup.
Re: Hey there
Your cable management is far too good, witch!
Re: Hey there

I'm pretty sure that it's illegal to distribute the client... So you will probably be on your own finding it.
