Greetings!
Hi,
I have been an avid VG player since launch and love everything I see here. Unfortunately I am not a developer and really have next to no coding skills, but I have worked in technology for 25 years and would like to help. If you have any grunt work where you do not require any specific coding language skills please drop me a line and I would love to contribute.
If not, I will continue to drop into New Telon from time to time and check things out. Thanks so much for all the work you are doing.

Hey Phorty,
Always need testers! The /bug command was added a long time ago.
And we need content designers. That involves a ton of grunt work, and as long as you got nothing against gnomes, you can definitely be put to work!
Welcome home,

Re: Greetings!
Hey guys! Great to see some old guildies around.
So how does one get started down the path of being put to work?

You must pass the twelve trials and then grind like crazy.

Re: Greetings!
I have the same basic question as Phorty. What does a person with basically no computer skills do to help move this project forward? Is it enough just to log in for an hour and kill a bunch of mobs? I know there are some pretty obvious bugs that we will run accross, so I will try to make liberal use of the /bug feature. But, honestly, VG was so buggy as it was left that sometimes I'm not sure what is actually a bug. We played an patched together jerry rigged game for so long, I think we just got used to things nor really working correctly.
Re: Greetings!
Perfect! Then you'll feel right at home!

/bug is good. There are also questions that come up from time to time as to exactly how VG actually worked. It has been a year since anyone played released VG, so our memories are stale. If you have or come across any videos, they can be really useful. Ditto for screenshots. I suspect that we'll need combat logs as well to figure out damage and hp for combat.
If you have any programming (even scripting) skills, there is going to be an immense amount of content development once the server code is a little farther along.

Re: Greetings!
Content design is REALLY close. We've been testing a bunch of the commands and working with the DB editor as well. Just to throw in that you don't NEED to have any programming/scripting skills. Yeah, it will be very helpful but not required. There's plenty of content that needs to be added that has no programming experience requirement at all.
And due to the sheer quantity of data, there's plenty of content design love to go around...
