Re: Awarness - Dungeon Entrance
That's a pretty neat idea actually. Didn't watch the video, but technically speaking it shouldn't be a difficult feature to implement. I suspect it could be fully scripted as an NPC interaction based on your skill level.

Re: Interested in playing and or doing raid content in RIFT?
Archeage is better. Just saying.
Ugh. I bought into the beta and I am honestly beyond disappointing. While the class system is really neat (mage tanks, cool!) the quest system is boring, the crafting is boring, and the world seems to very much lack in soul. Not ...

Re: Interested in playing and or doing raid content in RIFT?
The class system is fun, and they have added some neat sounding new roles to the archetypes. I got a rogue to 60 and then ended up burning out doing the Expert dungeons (I wasn't in a guild so I was doing them through the group finder). The community is surprisingly nice at end-game, not something y...

Re: Client Availability
This issue is being discussed at the moment between the team as a lot of people will be in the same boat as you and some not even have the launcher at all, John was trying to get hold of SOE CM, Legal Reps and Smed to see if they would let him release it "as is" t...

Client Availability
So, when VG announced its sunset I uninstalled my client. At that point it was too painful to actually open the game up and go into it, or even look at the icon. I didn't know about this project back then, and now that the sunset has happened it brings me to a tough spot; while the setup is availabl...

Re: Koralith, a spoony disciple.
Thanks, Kilsin! It's good to be here.
And sure thing, John! I'm going to start off with getting a local install up and running to tinker in so I can get an understanding of what's where and how you guys have this thing worked out. Should be fun times.

Re: Nar'issk
If I recall correctly, it was a weapon that was an upgrade from the Lord Tsang's stuff but not as good as the Cragwind Ridge stuff. They were red, but sadly I wasn't able to do the questline either due to it being bugged.

Koralith, a spoony disciple.
Hello everyone! I'm Koralith, I was also Koralith on VG's Xeth server and onwards. Spent some time with FR and Unleashed then struck out on my own with the significant other, helping newbies and exploring out of the way hole's in the earth. Vanguard was my first major stint in a western MMO (before ...

Re: Changes & Tweaks
From my experience a lot of the trouble ends up with the client and using SOE assets. The more of those that can be replaced the safer the client dev is. Jakkal and TigerTiger's work to revamp the beast races is an excellent start on that front.

Re: Changes & Tweaks
From my understanding, EE was taken out due to the complexity of the system. There was push-back from users that it was too much to deal with. It'd make for a really nice alternate rule-set server, that's for sure. As for the issues with adjusting the client... We have some brilliant folks here from...
