Well it was a hoot of a party!! Thanks Jakkal, now we stare at the empty halls and walls...OMG were not done harvesting haha! I would like to thanks everyone who offered assistance, from crafted goods, to diplo papers to harvested and dropped mats. It was a long road, but made easier by the community assistance. Thanks to the guests who showed up, been hard not actually completing it all week. But the trophies are in, and now we begin to decorate it. We have already received gifts, and offeres of more. Man I forgot just how big these things were, going to murder a few more granite nodes yet for fireplaces to keep us warm.
Brains and Brawn June newsletter Guild Hall COMPLETED!!! By the hands of many over worked guild members, and some great community members, Brains and Brawn erected our guild hall on Thursday May 23rd 2013. Months and months of dedicated work have paid off, we now have our own little castle on B&B Isle. Thanks to all who helped, donated, encouraged and attended for the final bricks to be added. Now the decoration begins. September Goal It is our guild leadership goal that we look to begin raiding in Sept. We have grown well but most of our members are new or returnees, so we have set Sept. as the month. APW Keys will begin mid-month and be the focus. We will extend offers to any in the community who also need them. We will have more info in Sept. Level up those toons to join in on the fun! 48+ will be required. SoE Live BABEE!! 3 members of Brains and Brawn have registered for the event, with others considering it. Aug 1st if you can make it, and tip a few back in Vegas with us. They have just added a live Quest as attendance for VG has warranted events. The more that attend the more attention we will gather. You do have to say Hi to Leavewiz, but you do not have to pretend to be his friend. Summer time play North American summer is upon us, with that comes many outdoor activities. As primarily an NA based guild we will begin to see a reduction in most people play times as head out under that great big orange disc in the sky. I for one have opened the lake front and will be spending most weekends and all my holidays there outside of SoE Live. Get out and enjoy life, there is more than just a computer screen. Just returning to Vanguard after a long time out and considering joining a guild. I am pretty self sufficient, liking to adventure and craft. At present I have a Paladin Level 11 doing his tier two Armorsmith Quests in Lomshir. I also have a Dreadknight Level 8, me thinks, on the Isle of Dawn (my Weaponsmith). Finally I have a Warrior in the making destined to become a Mineralogist. Not sure which we be my main nor how long it will take me to level up so I can join in with you folks. I tend to take my time, prefering to get the best gear for my level. I also like to tank (in every game I play). I like to group but not all the darn time! Oh, I am older than most and enjoying the start of summer vacation (I'm a teacher) so have plenty of time to kill (so to speak). I started playing mmo's in 2004 and have played most since. As you can tell I don't need babysitting! I also loke to think that I generally give way more than I take. If you think I may be a good fit, send me /tell in game .... going by the name of Iadiel :O

Brains and Brawn July/August News letter SoE Live This figures big now, we have four members attending. Looking forward to meeting other Vanguard players and a few from the old EQ days. 4 days to take in so much, we have several Vanguard panels, some very interesting player panels, and most of all the star of the event: EverQuest Next. No idea what to expect, just going to go with the flow. Tinqu seems on a one person’s mission to bring all issues to the Dev team, from any player who posts them. Good luck Tinqu! Remember to post in her thread on the boards, make your voice heard. Or you can just let me know. Guild Hall We have added player exchange chests to a small room off the courtyard. In order on the right they are for levels 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50 and against the back wall soon to be ready chest for crafting/harvest gear exchange. Please feel free to leave what you do not want and take what you need. Every few weeks I will clean it up, and put on broker some items as the chests get full. Sell what does not broker and all money will be donated to our bank. Recruitment After suffering a huge loss of members that simply have not logged in for months and months, we are on the grow again with new players and returnees alike. Vanguard seems to always suffer from retention issues, playes just seem to disappear and never log in again with word. Raiding Level those characters, mid Sept is target to begin raiding. APW entrance keying will be first priority. We also will begin to look at first tier over land mobs. 48+ will be required, so get any and all characters you want to raid some XP time over the next month and a half. BnB will be progressing through raids starting with APW. More to come when the time comes closer. That’s it, hope everyone is having a great summer!

Brains and Brawn September NewsletterI was intending on delaying this for another announcement, but in light of recent events, this seemed the time. We all know that recent events has cast a shadow over the game and its future, as well as each of your own in it. I implore everyone to remember those that it is much worse for, those that lost a lot more than a virtual escape. To all Guild leadership: I am sure you all are contemplating, as I am, the implications of recent events. On the game, its population, and its future as it pertains to each of you. I ask all of you to speak to your members, to speak to your leadership core. I know this will have a negative impact, I know it will be a tough pill to swallow. But now more than ever we need to work together, we need stand shoulder to shoulder. Nothing makes my blood boil, or heart cringe in sadness than a high level member of my guild tell me about being openly sniped, or attempted, in open group chat. Well now that was before, now I beg of all you to make sure we all step back, look to each other as allies, not potential members to hang the carrot in front of. Now is a time when we have to step up and work as one. Let’s not let them force us to stoop to such levels, let us show them we are better than that. The greatest knights can run from battle, the poorest of farmers can pull the spear from his own body to protect the last dying livestock on his lands from the invaders. The noblest of men can fall into deceit and lies to protect what they did not earn, and the meek can stand up, hold against the dying of the light, when they seemingly have nothing left. This is a time to dig deep within, and find that farmer in us all, a time for the meek to fight the incoming darkness. There is no stronger force then different voices’ shouting as one, shouting together. To all who play Vanguard: I know that many are already taking drastic action, making rash knee jerk choices upon which we do not have the full picture. I ask everyone to step back, take a second to think, and to wait for what will come. There will be more information, give it time, truth will come out, it always does. There have been many indications that in the following weeks, there will be more information with regards to SoE and it’s games. I ask you all await that before making any rash choices. Take a break, take a few days, we are on the brink of a long weekend, spend it somewhere else and return with a clear head. Maybe one cannot overcome fear, but as many we can defeat it! Together we can stride into the “undiscovered country” without fear, without worry, if we know we all have each other’s backs. Now it is time for us to stand tall, and forge ahead as one voice, one line. We stand upon the precipice of tomorrow, and two paths lay before us; that of the easy road, leading away and going gently into that good night; but I say we take the rough path, through darkness and peril, together we can and will make it, but only together as one. Everyone fears the unknown, but through solidarity tempered like steel in the fires of a forge, we can defeat the fear, conquer the unknown. Guild Status: This will have a negative affect on the guild, of that I am fully aware, and will not attempt to fluff it over or make half-hearted attempts at hiding it with marketing jargon. This will also set us back even further from September goal as our beginning to play through the raid progression of Vanguard. So with this in mind we will be putting a delay in place, we will not be making our late September goal, I am sorry. With guilds faltering and merging all around us, it is pragmatic to be honest here. However we are not going anywhere, Brains and Brawn will forge forward with renewed vigor. Those who stay behind will only make us stronger, we will form a foundation bigger, better, faster, move over Steve Austin, here we come. We will not letting go, we are not giving up; we are just readjusting to conditions outside of our control. We will not go gently into the night, we don’t take **** from no one. Guild recruitment: We will be continuing to look for members, to recruit those who wish forge ahead, to conquer fear and the unknown. There are two types of players; those who build, who toil with blood, sweat and tears to make what isn’t a reality; then there are those who are content to move in and dwell within that which is already there. Brains and Brawn is looking for the former, we have little to offer the latter. We are looking for those who craft, adventure, diplo and do it for the love of the journey, not the arrival. To the mighty bastion of our houses to lowly shadow of our guildhall, these words rings true: “RAGE! Rage against the dying of the light!”. Raiding On hold for now, we are not abandoning this; we are simply re-aligning it with the current situation. This is not a retreat, but a strategic withdrawal so we may reform, and strike anew from a position of strength. Sun Tzu teaches us that we only fight the battles, after we have won the war. It is to this end we strive. Server Announcement: I didn’t really want to do this yet, early and in my newsletter but it seems pragmatic now. So I announce the following: Formation of the Telon Guildleaders Council: As fellow player, guild leader and Community Council representative I believe this is the right time for such an endeavor. With recent events surround the game and its present and future, now more than ever need to come together. So the following: We will meet monthly, all Guildleaders who wish to join please PM me. I own and run a Teamspeak 3 server, I will dedicating a password protected room for our meetings. This meeting will move around the days/times to try and over course of time accommodate everyone. Please understand the difficulty in this with a world-wide server, there is no single time perfect for everyone. We will meet and discuss the state of the game, state of the present and future. We can discuss collaborative endeavors, issues we need to rectify, anything is on the table. I will provide a Coles-Notes post to the SoECC boards for the Vanguard team to see and work with. They will get a rundown of what we as guildleaders see as the most pressing issues and what we see as the most important feedback to give. IF a leader cannot make it, they can designate an officer to attend; I want all to have a voice. What it is not is meant to be a favoritism club. Please, everyone I hope understands this is not to exclude, but we need to keep it to a small forum to be productive. Approach your leadership, make them aware of the biggest issues, from inter-guild cooperation to the next bug fix. The first meeting will be set for end of September, it would seem best that we allow the dust to settle, the air clear before we meet. I will inform every guildleader who PMs me on the boards and keep a running tally on membership. There is no catch, no requirement other than a willingness to work and speak together for the betterment of the game itself. Please understand I will be picking a time and day that the most possibly can attend. This is the first meeting and I want to include everyone I can. In the future I will move it around, so we can get everyone time. I will make as much personal sacrifice as I can to make this available to everyone. Thank you,
