I was excited to hear that Vanguard was going F2P. I tried the Isle of Dawn trial a couple of years ago, and I'm pretty sure I got at least one character all the way up to the IoD cap level (20?). I checked on what characters might be available to me last month using the VanguardPlayers website, and there were some characters there, but now that the website is gone, I can't check. When I downloaded the game today and logged in, there were no characters. It's not a big deal, but it would be nice to have continued with characters I had already played. Did the IoD characters get deleted in the merge or are they not available on the regular servers? Or: If my characters were the wrong race/class combination for F2P (I think one was a Wood Elf Ranger, for instance), do they just not show up on the character selection screen? Thanks for any help or advice you can offer!
Your characters should have still been available and, at the very least, viewable regardless of your account status. If your characters are not appearing when you log in you may be logging in on a different account than the one you used previously. Please feel free to open a support ticket with us and we will be happy to get you access to your old characters.
I believe the IoD level cap was 10, and I also seem to recall characters level 10 & under that hadn't been logged in for 6 months (or was it 12 months? Something... like that) may have been purged with the last server merge. Most likely what has happened, I daresay.
Thanks! I will do more research to ensure that I am logging in on the right account (the problem with having too many usernames) but if level 10s were purged then I might be hooped. Ah, well, begin the journey again, then.
