How to party?

Discussion in 'The Newbie Yard' started by ARCHIVED-Godit, Oct 21, 2012.

  1. Hi, I just started the game with my buddy and we tried to party with eachother, since we are freebies we can't form any of the other fancy stuff yet. When we tried it, nothing popped up, but in the chat window it says "You invited him to join party" but nothing on his side shows up. We tried /groupacceptinvite, but didn't work either. After the command when I tried to invite him it just say I have a pending party invite to handle first. Is this a bug or is there a command that we are missing?
    Thanks in advance.
  2. Hey Godit! Welcome to Vanguard!
Generally a simple /invite will do. Unless you're both starting on the Isle of Dawn, in which case you very well could be on seperate instances. They spin up new ones based on population to help ease any lag spikes.
If that's the case for you folks, there isn't an easy way to get onto the same instance that we know of yet but it has been raised as an issue with the development team in other threads in General Feedback.
Hope that doesn't sour the experience for you!
  3. did you try a relog? sometimes the panel bugs out. and it could be different instances yes..
  4. Welcome to Vanguard!
As mentioned IoD will create instances at 50 or 60 cap, that means when Instance 1 reaches that, it creates instance2 and so on. You can both try relogging in same place and try and get lucky for same IoD instance.
However you can start in starter home city, and if you pick same continental race, you will strat side by side, there is visrtually no oinstances in Vanguard, but because IoD is a specerate from main game starter zone, it was designed to handle alot of people.
BTW I have not seen this since the first week IoD was released. WOW is all I can say. My guild had its first LAN PARTY Saturday and it was insane with so many new people.
