I cannot launch the launcher. I see this: And then it crashed to desktop. One time i saw it was downloading a patch but lasted 0.5 secs. Help Help
I would suggest re-downloading the launcher and install it over the old one. let me know if that doesnt work.
Did not work sadly. I still crashes. I uninstalled VG, but now i don't have the game installed and the launcher keeps crashing :*(
Hmm, it might be a firewall issue. Are you playing behind a firewall? or perhaps a restricted network like a university campus?
The issue you are currently experiencing is commonly related to a caching issue with the game's launchpad. In order to possibly resolve this issue, go to your game's folder and find the launchpad.libs folder. From there, delete the launchpad.cache folder and try accessing the game once again. If this does not resolve your issue please reset your Internet options by following these instructions: Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Click the Advanced Tab. On the Advanced Tab Afterward click Reset > Delete Personal Settings > and click Ok. Then go back on the Internet Options and on the advanced tab, scroll down to Security and un-check "Check Server Certificate Revocation" and "Do Not Save Encrypted Pages to Disk" then click on Ok. I'm having similar issues with the launcher crashing during updates. I recently upgraded my memory on one my computers and installed windows 7 for my son. I get a short ways into reinstalling VG through launchpad and it crashes. I have tried deleting the launchpad.cache folder, and changing my internet options as stated by TSR-SeanF. None of those seem to work. I installed direct x 9c, and verified in the registry that it is installed. I'm out of ideas...
Ok so I tried to install from the original VG cds I have and then copied the launchpad and other files from the download installer. When I open up the launchpad it will go through the update process until it tries to look for the !CheckMinSpec dll file. I copied the !checkminspec dll to the other install location from the cds, and when I start the launchpad it crashes as soon as it started updating.....
Well, i feel for you. The above solution worked for me, but shorty after again i could not log in again. I reinstalled many times and fixed it many times. But lately i haven't played for weeks because it just kept crashing. The only solution i found was unsubbing. I payed my sub but got no playtime most of the time. It may be on my side (pc configuration maybe) or it may be windows 7 i just don't know. I love the game but if i can't log in there is no sense i keep paying. I'll try at another time but now i just don't have the time trying to figure out a solution. For anyone in the Lonely Wolve guild. Don't give up on me yet (Trebonius, Uderfrykte). I want to log in but mostly can't.
well its not an issue with pc hardware configuration because I have been able to play no problem until I updated to windows 7
This can be closed. I finally got it to run again. I did cancel though because of the shut down message. That is my 2nd favourite mmo being shut down. the first one was SWG. Darn it
I just started to have this problem. The last time that I was able to log in was Tuesday, March 11. I didn't play at all on Wednesday. Now the game acts like it is going to load but just goes back to the launcher or CTD. I have followed the instructions listed above but no of it has worked. Any other suggestions? Is the game down at this time? Any help is Greatly appreciated.
