i have just come back after a bit of a hiatus and was wondering if someone could show me to a resource explaining the Bard speed nerf. im not looking to argue it, just wanting to know what happened. When the game launched, the bard speed song components were modified by percussion instruments. Then they removed the percussion mod from affecting bard speed song components and buffed speed song a bit to compensate. Recently, when they made the change to global run speed management, they added back the percussion mod for speed song components. The speed song components were toned down and some percussion instruments were increased (archbishop's gong went from 2.86 mod to 3.26 for exemple). This where we are now, bard song speed buff can go up to 45% with all components (from memory as i am not ingame right now), modified by your drum, for exemple with archibishop's gong 3.26 mod, your buff songs will boost speed by 45 * 3.26 = 146.7. In a close future (on test atm 8/9/13 update notes) they will change the run speed formula which should makes it easier to understand. But bard speed will no longer be a primary method of journey like it were before flying mount and rift.
Maybe my search-fu is weak and I can't find it... But did they ever say WHY they made this, IMHO, horrible change? What possible benefit could come from this... Other than now forcing Bards like me to buy a mount? Hmmmmm... New member my fanny... Been playing this game since Beta 2.5.
