Greetings, I installed vanguard recently, and was enjoying the game. However I've run into a snag. I can't get past the firewall on newbe island. From the internet, I can see after praying at the Shrine of blessings quest, I should get "The Shotaru" AND "Ascension" from Hoangsu Halfmoon However I only get "The Shotaru"... Thus I can't get past the firewall to finish the questline. I have run 2 different charaters up to level 9, same thing for each. Do you need to pay money get off newbe island? Can I just rent a horse and fly to where you would go when you are done and skip that quest? Where would that be? Thank you!
To complete the Ascension quest you need to get the quests from the Ghost guy in the entrance to the temple. As you enter you should get a quest to talk to him. Also the first quest he gives you is to get protection to help with the Final fight.
They recently changed this. Now you must finish shotaru quest in order to get next quest. Now is part of the quest serie. Btw the 2 shotarus inside the temple are now outside, check the waypoints.
getting through the fire door is the second part of the ascension quest. you first have to get the quest from the guy inside the temple entrance and work the left side of the temple. When you get to Zalaz, talk nicely and he will give you the protection you need for iku. When you get back to the npc at the entrance , he gives you the quest to get past the fire door. Just ask for help, plenty of people in IOD will be willing to lend a hand.
Just make a new character and start in the proper world and not on that isle. Then you are free to go anywhere and do anything. With the isle you have to complete it to be allowed to leave. Although if you are attached to your character you could just get someone to help you finish it off. And no you don't have to pay to leave.
