Okay I changed trade skills in IoD and the levelling quests were not available to do again so I went to Khal assuming I could get some there.

Sadly I can find none, any suggestions or do I just have to do workorders?

    Thanks

for crafting? did you go to the crafting area in khal? you'll probably have to speak to an instructor to reset your crafting skills

I had 2 toons, now I have 6. Some, I found necessary to change areas of expertise - so that I could run 2 artisans, 2 smiths, and 2 outfitters. I would have preferred the ability to multitask with the 2 toons I had. I have changed trades in real life, and did not immediately lose the skills I had learned. It is easier to skill up on the new trade, when your attributes are higher (from leveling up the first time). I'm not sure if we should keep the recipes we have learned. They would only appear at the proper workbench anyway, so should not be overly confusing...

Yeah Shal I went to the rafting area in Khal. I had alresdy reset in IoD expecting the quest line to be reset there

Have you abandon all current tradeskill quests? If not you must.
Are you on your home continent? If not head there, Tursh for Thestra, or Tanvu for Kojan.

Yeah I had finished all tradeskill quests availabel to me before I changed in IoD.

I believe I am in my home city I am dark elf and am in Khal

Did you actually switch your major from say Artificer to Outfitter, or stay within the same major category?
  9. Faerar New Member

I switched from artisan to outfitter as I decided bags where probably very useful to a new player :)

I was only craft level 10 at the time and still on IoD. I assumed the crafting tutorial would reset with the change but it didn't so I left IoD hoping to find a quest line in Khal so I could level up.

Couldn't find anything really except a level 5 quest that was busted so I gave up and am just doing work orders.

If you're now level 11, head to the crafting adviser there in Khal and get on with choosing your specialization, tailor or leatherworker, and get on with learning recipes from there. If you're looking for a quest, there is a good crafting apron to be had from the Dune Eagle Trading Co. Look for them in a camp on the NE side of Khal. The quest giver is upstairs in the lager building, I believe. There are loads of crafting quests. If you are really into it, do both the Banishers Saga in New Targonor and the Fiend Hunters Saga starting in Ca'ial Brael. Check the wiki...

Thanks for the info Wileag. I'm 10 atm working on 11 and specialising. I will then chase up those quests :)

I read Banishers was best left till the 20's so I was leaving it till them.

The experience reward on Banishers is better the higher level you are but the gear is more useful the lower level you are.

I got the apron quest. My question is what am I suppose to do? Like the level 5 quest I found I get no recipes to make the items requested and some of the items are made by different tradeskillers I would think from the names.

Maybe it wasn't bugged and I am just doing something stupid?

I have abandoned and retaken the quest a few times

I am not familiar with that quest, but many crafting quest require items made by other professions. These are often sold on the exchange, usually pretty pricey. You can also try /craft and see if someone will make one up for you.

You might find recipes in the special area of ether refining or finishing and some use the assembly bench. Try logging out and back in if you do not see them in those places.

okay I figured out how to make the item that my class can make.

I have to add an attuning dust but there is no where that tells you that or which one of the dusts is the right one. Thank the gods for the exchange and the item listed tells you what its attribute is.

thanks for the help all. I like the crafting system in this game but damn the external stuff is annoying. It took me over an hour last night to make the items for my amateur quest because I couldn't figure out how to make items for a quest where I didn't get the recipe till I had finished the quest. Yep bugged and special recipes were not showing up.

Anyway back to the original point of this thread. It would be great if you changed tradeskills if the tutorial quests reset at least in IoD thanks

Ah yes, the names like Sentinel’s, Protector’s etc. can be a bit confusing. They change with every tier as well.
