Other ways to store crafting materials?

I've been playing now over a month and I'm only adventure level 16. But I seem to be gravitating toward harvesting and crafting right now.

I'm having serious storage issues. I've been working on the Artisan Saga crafting quest line for a week, I have no idea how much longer this goes on but I am getting a lot of crafting gear. Since I don't really know enough about the system yet, I don't want to sell anything to a merchant. My diplomacy gear goes in my diplomacy pouch, but I can't get my crafting gear to go into my crafting bag.

I can get my crafting dusts and powders to go in my crafting bag but none of my orbs. None of my jute bales or cotton bales or ratty strips will go in the bag. I can get cloth I make like jute cloth but not rugged leather lining or woven cloth padding.

Do I have the wrong crafting bag? Is there a quest for a better bag? Any tips, tricks or hints for an over-crafter/harvester?

    Thanks!

I have always reserved one of my general bags for crafting and harvesting items.
Also most of the chests in my houses are filled with crafting resources. Makes it easier to share them among several crafters.

Well I don't have a house yet. So there isn't a harvesting or crafting bag to hold those objects? Ok, thanks!

There are harvesting bags that I can make for you if you want them. They hold a lot of resources, but they take a bag slot and are resource specific. Send me mail in game if you are interested.

Ok, thanks Ratief! That's really nice of you. I don't have much gold though, I'll send you a mail.

as you level up you can get larger craft utilities bags. also, your jute and other raw materials cannot be stored in your crafting bag, but if you make them into cloth bolts, they can. the best place for storage at your level is your 3 banks. when you go to khal or another hub city you will have access to all 3 of your continental banks. That should cover you until you get a house .

Yeah Leavwiz, I think that's where I was confused. I can put my cloth bolts in my crafting bag, but not the bales. But, harvested materials aren't the same as crafted, so duh me.

What about the crafting orbs though? The dusts and powders go into my crafting bag, but not the blue crafting orbs. Intended? Or do I not have the right bag yet?

the orbs are virtually useless, only a few recipes use them, store them in your bank. but no, they don't go into the crafting bag because they are a resource (harvested)

Oh no, the orbs are useless? I've been hording them thinking once I understand the crafting process better I can put them to good use Haha, joke's on me. I didn't realize they were considered a harvest, not a crafting item so that makes sense. Thanks!

My highest crafters are only at Initiate and Apprentice levels so far, but the only thing I remember using orbs for was making bows as a Carpenter.

Aww, yeah I wanted to make a carpenter to make bows for my ranger but I wanted to be a mineralogist too to make blocks for an eventual house. I'll save them, I'm sure a carpenter is in my future some where :)

orbs are also used for making enchanted horseshoes and a few other items. The ones needed for things like mithril runes don't drop during harvests, you have to buy them from the exotics vendor. yet another odd money sink after you fill your bags with orbs / spheres that have little value.

you would think that harvested materials would go into the harvester's bag, but that bag is used only for harvesting tools. If that were actually the case, we wouldnt need such large bags that was have now.
