COW test stuff to report

    It initially looks like the duel crash is the same as the other crash and should be fixed as well but we tried dueling on the Dev server and it didn't crash even before we patched so there might be some other steps that do cause it to crash. After we finish raid testing we can try and reproduce it.

    There's some bug with elevation.

    The first Guardian wasn't hitting neither me nor my abomination on the stairs. As soon as I had the minions add, it bounced up and then I and all the pets/minions got hit with the appropriate AE. Repeated once again to ensure it wasn't a bug the first time and then the chunk crashed again.

    Not sure if this will addressed in this patch or not, but a couple things related to the augment crafting:

    Checked on both the outfitter and artificer and the ONLY augments they can upgrade are dexterity, wisdom, accuracy, evasion, critical evasion, heal focus, heal effectiveness, spell damage focus, and defiance. And BOTH crafting archetypes have that same set of choices, which they shouldn't based on what you said about each archetype should be able to craft different upgrades from each other. I haven't checked the smith but I bet that's all he can upgrade too.

    Second, when tabling materials and crafting the upgrade, the enhancement item is under Imbued Power at the top/start and the minor augment is listed as a catalyst. This is backward from other crafting recipes where the augment is usually the base item and the enhancement is the catalyst. If this is intended, it's fine and the recipe still works, but I just wanted to point it out just in case they were accidentally transposed.

    Hopefully I'm the only one who was booted to character select every minute or so. If this isn't the case, I have no idea what you hope to accomplish by throwing 24 people into a raid setting aside from the giggles of watching them relog.

    Also, since 8:30 pm EST tonight, attack ratings have been cut by 75% - and my heal output has been cut by just about the same amount (500 instead of 2k, etc). If Defiance is currently live that would explain some of the problem as I'm currently only wearing 35% in defiance gear... but the numbers still don't jive. As it stands, I can't assist you raid testing if it's just going to be a relogging fest - and I can't assist you in these glaring itemization issues if my output is going to be altering by such a large amount.

    I can say that if this output issue is related to Defiance/Ferocity alone (possible if it's double-dipping into stats and then output as well), you've created an abomination to all that was good about Vanguard as far as this vet is concerned.

    Takamoro i'm having the same problems with spell damage, it may be related to the new formulas but who knows...

    Sorcerer PoTA 5 Piece buff is not being applied.

    This was due to some bugs that only got triggered when lots of people and buffs were going on. We'll be fixing these in the next patch.


    That is a bug in the new formulas. Healing from attributes and damage from attributes were not getting their initial 100% bonus (ie: what should've been 140% was only 40%).

    just trying to understand the testing process. If we show up in our best (non COW) gear to fight the initial mobs (same as it would be on live) none of my nukes hit for more than 1k. not even seradons comet. I suppose we demonstrated that we could theoretically still kill some stuff and eventually get the gear and augs that will make this entrance trash be easy, but the shock factor of doing so little damage and having reduced stats overall (without ferocity being a factor) was hard to comprehend. my HP and INT were both down more than 10% after the BBO were applied. I did make a character from scratch to test a pure COW build, but again, having no way to skill up (please leave a practice dummy in place) and no weapons available (as much as I love the IOD weapons) its pretty hard to really test much with a pure COW build.

    I logged in tonight to test a few things and found the same dmg bug for abilities that were cast. I checked out proc from my gear and other effects to see how they worked...

    Can confirm mana regen works inside & outside cow from logs & bar
    Dragon glove proc for about 50% usual on mobs (prob affetced by spell dmg thing?)
    Spells hit for max 2k, normally 660hp ish (as you know)
    Psi mortal paradox is not affected by the dmg problems - the effect works fine
    Summoners bolt is a bit weird - cast it and hit for 18k, but...
    should be 10x int, wis, vit as damage when charged, it showed crit for total 18300k (9.5 norm + 8.7apx) hit in logs, but i had 951 int, 624 wis, 205 vit , ... looks like it is only taking the first int part and then adding crit dmg bonus after.

    I will try other things soon when spell dgm is better

    Damage is low because of a bug we introduced when the stat cap formula was rewritten. It will be much higher after the next patch.

    Ranger touch of leaves. still active on test and stacks with the bbo buff. Touch of leaves is activated by casting monsoon cloak. the abilities probably need to be seperated.

    I seem to be missing a lot of EE effects on my disc after loging in. Dying brought 2 crafting effects backs, but i still seem to be missing icons for kdq diplo bracer, valus hand of justice etc.

    When you attempt to socket 2 of the same augs in one item, i tested with 2 50 str cores, the adhesive is removed from your inventory but the socketing fails ( i know its suppose to fail). But i should keep the adhesive.

    Hi wigin, thanks for the reply. I realised that the damage at the moment is wrong, however in terms of the summoners bolt ability (from shendu focus) - it used to show 3x hits, 1 for int, wis, vit. At the moment its doing only one which seems to be the first one (int). It should show 3 hits in the log, but just shows one. Other than that the damage is correct for it.

    Since the last test has the test server been patched on the debuff bug that causes the chunk to crash?? Was wondering might get bored and hit test if ever..

    - HP Augs might better fit as a core type than an enrichement
    - Jewlery, Mask, and Cloak feel underpowered
    might not actually be by numbers but forcing to one stat makes it seem that way.

    - HP Augs might better fit as a core type than an enrichment
    - SDF and HF augs might be lower than ideal, hard to say without more thought on my part
    - Jewelry, Mask, and Cloak feel underpowered
    might not actually be by numbers but forcing to one stat makes it seem that way
    add special slots to compete with raid jewelry
    - maybe 1.5 times the enrichment slots but at 2/3 power level. Would like more room to diversify on ultra twinked armor
    - Lacking many types of augs. (regen, mitigation, haste stuff, proc chance, flat dmg, ?) intended? also see above.
    - The uncapping of everything makes me worried. Mainly as it would then relate to things like aug availability/drop rate/economy. Too soon?

    PS Don't make the etherance fitting Defiance augs crap +1s and +2s only.
    While a whopping 2 may seem a generous amount in one frame of reference,
    I don't think that will sit well. But we don't know the end state of this yet so /shrug

    @Grunther: Yes, we intentionally have left out some stats. Regen, because it comes from Vitality. Mitigation, because it comes from AC, Spell/Ranged/Melee Damage, because General Damage influences all of those and by the same degree that the individual ones would. These are the sorts of reasons why they were left out. This is also why initially, HP and Energy were left out, and why they may still be left out in the Live build.

    We've identified what's causing the lack of damage on Test compared to Live. A rounding error in the formula. We'll build this out as soon as I can so that the parsing can continue.


    Edit - To elaborate on the selection of stats for the new gear. The selection doesn't indicate a finality to the stats that will be given out or not given out in the future. It simply indicates the stats given out in this release of Cave of Wonders. As we are able to see how the new gear plays out over the course of several weeks and months, changes may happen to the gear, including the introduction of new stat augments and balancing tweaks to the current augments -- potentially in the form of buffs or nerfs, as the situation may require.
