    General
    • Fixed multiple memory leaks which should help server performance and help reduce crashing of chunks.
    Cave of Wonders
    • Fixed an exploit with the Angels fight where one of the Angels could be force-despawned. Loot will now be given from killing the Altar after both Angels have been killed.
    • The attack speed and health of Sorrow has been increased.
    • Releasing from Cave of Wonders will now teleport you outside of the raid dungeon.
    • Cave of Wonder "trash" mobs (with the exception of the Flame Guardian) will no longer instantly decay, allowing players to loot them.

It's very sad to see yet more resources being spent on new content before fixing the game. As stated by others, if more than one raid is in the chunk and simply buff, it's game over. What is the point?

I thought the purpose of the test server was to "test" encounters ensuring they are working properly. Not pushing them to live to find out they are severely flawed.

Here's my one forum post for the year. There I'm done

This requires people showing up to test the encounters, last time 15 ppl showed, 10 of which healers.
  6. Zakell Member

No one showed up because test wasn't even stable. The two times I went to test for COW I crashed within 5 minutes. And who wants to go to test when live isn't stable and barely playable and COW shouldn't be getting released to begin with?

And frankly as far as mob HP and damage, that is something easily figured on based on old encounters. Shouldn't be that far off.

Wigin is not the dev working on server capability, this is outside of his area of expertise, its like assigning a plummer to assist an electrician on an electrical problem, sure an extra hands might help in some cases but, the plummer would be far more useful doing something else.

Not with defiance / ferocity in game, changed the dynamic. And if you do not log in to establish what crashes you, how should devs know, maybe their admin powers prevent them from crashing. i agree it should be QA's job more, but if we want this game to succeed itll bewith us testing, even if its a pita sometimes.

Yes, that would add a bit more complexity to it, but again Sorrow was PUG'd with 18 people and was a total joke to say the least. A far cry from needing a small tweak.

Wigin had offers to go to test, but never asked ahead of time. The last time I seen was on friday I believe, you have to give people notice if you want a good turn out.

I'm not going to show up to something I don't think should be a concern at all whatsoever when there are plenty of other things the devs could be working on. It's not a shot at the devs (assuming/praying they don't determine their own directives) but whoever is making the decisions needs to have their head examined. If it's because the squeakiest wheels on the forums have been crying for new content, then I'm posting to make sure the right wheels are squeaking just as loudly; Fix the game, THEN expand it. It was/is simply not ready for defiance/ferocity.

And any admin without the forward thinking to have a basic account that they can use specifically to test how the standard user is affected need have their head examined as well. That's a BASIC concept that any admin should be aware of and practice.

    Additional updates:

    General
    • Fixed an issue where existing target debuffs would not show when changing targets.
    • Fixed an issue that was causing chunks to crash.

Yaviey, good news about the crashing and debuff fix, is there any news on the Buff stacking and Necro pet grafts being fixed yet?

Well I started as a Paying member in 2007 When CTD crash to desktop was every ten minutes and that then was minor but there I was and here I am now a Paying member of the potential of vanguard. And here I thought it was my computer that locked up all day every 15 minutes and wouldn't start for half hour after all of the resets and ctrl alt del wouldn't even work cause there was enough cat hair sucked into my sli G force setup to make another cat but I cleaned it out and then the big lokup. I still pay for potential

As a paying customer, I'd like to say "May I please speak to your manager?"

It has been asked several times, and while the mods/GMs and Devs posting here may not have the "roadmap" handy, I would sure like to have someone who has this information step up and let this community know what is going on. We have asked several times why CoW was released before the game as a whole was playable.

Before you released it, the majority of the community begged you to focus on the existing content. To fix existing issues before introducing the potential for more. Why are we being ignored? If there is indeed some roadmap, would you please share this with us.

I would ask that someone at Sony with this information please let this community in on the plan. (and an explanation)

From my standpoint, and from many others as well, it really is starting to look like your plan is to slowly bleed away our small player base, many of which have been nothing but loyal over the many years of game management inactivity.

    Shendorra for President!!!!

I have three accounts that are subbed' and one that is not.
I've played this game off and on since beta, and I agree that it feels like we're being aggravated or tormented into quitting.
I love Vanguard and have since my first moments in the game. I deal with and overlook most of the minor stuff in game, but someone of it jsut can't be overlooked or dealt with.
We all asked that you, SoE fix the issues that the game had so we were able to play.
We all asked that you hold off until after the holidays to add the patch, but it went forward as needless to say was less than stellar.
Fix the things that are broken and unstable before releasing more content into an unstable environment.

I for one couldn't agree more with Shendorra!

    +1

They did tell us why there was new content made while bugs still existed. That whole code vs. design discussion ? yeah that.
  18. Masumi Member

Where is your link to that discussion? Yea that. Are you talking about the lengthy Holiday Design Bug Fix Wish list thread? Where answers are given like "This is a code bug and we can put it in their queue but their queue is much more full then design" Or the thread (which I cannot find atm) where it is said that CoW is being pushed out to free up people to work on the existing bugs? Those are feasible answers for you as to why new content with more bugs was pushed out before fixing the existing bugs that made the game virtually unplayable, loaded the petition queue up, and was the cause of two emergency Hot fixes yesterday?

    I was one of several who recently pleaded other issues be fixed before pushing out new content, without reply to the entire thread;

I would call that being ignored. I too would like to share in the vision of the future of this game and to see what will be done to increase the small player base. If priorities are not reexamined we may need tourniquet's instead of band aids.

Which really, I love how they said that they were pushing CoW out because it would "Free up people to work on the existing bugs" My argument against that is, the same thing could've been accomplished by simply postponing the push and having those SAME PEOPLE, help on working to fix the bugs. Call me crazy now. . .

Being patient and understanding and waiting for bugs to get fixed is not the same thing as being happy with the current state of affairs.
I can understand why people where pushing for new content - the game is long over due it.
It seems that being quiet and patient is taken as tacit approval for whatever is currently happening.
If there is misunderstanding in what will either reduce the current amount of players or turn off new and returning players a useful tool would be a post or poll looking for feedback on decisions (except polls are banned).
