Cave of Wonders 1: Known Issues

    Just want to create a place where the dev team can keep the players updated on what has been fixed and what is a known issue. To continue reporting bugs, please use the other threads for that discussion. We will continually pour over them and attempt to reproduce anything reported there, and let you know when they are fixed here.

    Since this list is getting started a little bit late in the testing process, it assumes some bugs are already fixed, and are therefore not listed.

    Known Issues
    1. Looting corpses does not give players back lost experience. - Fixed.
    2. The offensive target's buff window doesn't remove buff/debuff icons after the buffs/debuffs expire or are otherwise removed. - Fixed.
    3. Toggled abilities can't be untoggled, unless canceled via the buff bar. - Fixed. Toggled abilities used to behave mostly like a Maintained Ability. They now behave entirely like a Maintained Ability, including appearing on the Maintained Buff bar.
    4. Feign Death is not functioning properly. - Fixed. This fix also addresses the issues people were having with the POTA set bonuses.
    5. Some (all?) Equip Effects are not applying when you log in (taking them off, then re-equipping them does make them apply). Fixed.
    6. There are buffs which should not be allowed to be cancelled that can be cancelled. Fixed.
    7. Stat bonuses from Attributes are still capped. - Fixed. See developer roundtable thread here.
    8. Several crash bugs cropped up in the last patch. - Fixed. Also put in logging to help find the cause of other crash bugs.
    9. The Attached Ability icon for Bard Songs don't appear in the buff bar for anybody except the caster. - Fixed
    10. When socketing two of the same augments into the same item, the second augment is not socketed, but the adhesive is consumed. - Fixed.
    11. Horse Shoes, Tacks, and Saddle Bags do not update the player's mount speed when equipped or unequipped. - Fixed.
    12. There is a bug somewhere in the recent code changes that is reducing damage by a significant degree. - Fixed.
    13. Pulsing abilities (such as DoTs and HoTs) do not appear immediately on the target they were cast on. - Fixed.
    14. Pulsing abilities can stack indefinitely, regardless of who cast the ability. - Fixed.
    15. Psionicist Mindspy learned abilities are not persisting through login, even though the buff appears on the Psionicist's buff bar. - Fixed.
    16. The Bard Epic Weapon's equipped effect does cause the wielder to learn all three abilities that it should. - Fixed.
    17. There is a crash bug related to dragging/summoning corpses and then looting them. - Fixed.
    18. When a player sells an item that contains enhancements, those enhancements sometimes get attached to other items in their inventory. - Fixed.
    Unconfirmed Issues:
    1. Mount speed is not correctly updating when it should (ie, when you land, it changes to your ground speed).
    2. Movement speed appears to be higher than it should. - Not valid.
    3. The new crafting recipes for Outfitters and Artificers are not functioning correctly/not available.
    Update Notes
    1. The abilities "Recall to House" and "Recall to Guild Headquarters" now feature their own unique icons, to prevent player confusion.
    2. An NPC's Ferocity rating now appears in the Offensive Target Window. If an NPC has 0 Ferocity, the indicator will not appear. This variable is also exposed to all entities on the encounter list, should modders wish for it to be viewable on all NPCs in the encounter.
    3. Stat bonuses from Attributes are now uncapped and under a more elegant formula.
    4. Passives can not be cancelled.
    5. Players will be receive a notification if they attempt to cancel a buff that cannot be cancelled.
    6. Calculated Statistic bonuses from Attributes now work under a new formula. Read about those changes here.
    7. Health and Energy bonuses from Constitution and Wisdom (respectively) are no longer soft-capped. Formulas determining those bonuses have not changed. You can talk about these changes in the Developer Roundtable here.
    8. Fixed a bug on the client, where it was reporting Ranged Damage Bonus from Dexterity much higher than the real value on the server. The server has (and has always had) a base bonus multiplier of 1.0 and a bonus scaler of 0.4, creating a range between 100% and 140%.     Incoming update to you guys. This fix will address all of the originally listed bugs (I'll update the list when the update is complete).

    We were going to sent this down to you earlier today, but there's one other thing we want to implement in this update.

    Edit - Just put in the ticket to Operations. You should all be seeing a 5 minute warning for the servers to come down soon.

    Just updated the patch notes for two bugs that were fixed in yesterday's patch. Sorry we didn't update them earlier.

    As the holiday weekend continues, you can expect the team's responsiveness to slow down a bit, and testing will continue in full strength on Monday.

    Currently, our big focus is finding the issue that is causing damage to be so much lower on test than it is on Live.

    More updates.

    Just today we fixed the damage/heal bug in the new formula.

    Also found today were two bugs related to pulsing abilities (big thanks to Fazz). They've been solved internally. We'll be patching the fix to both tomorrow morning.

    Currently working on finding a cause to maintained buffs appearing twice on buff bars.

    I've updated the main thread with some changes. Most especially, Known Issues 9, 13, and 14.

    There have also been data updates. We don't yet have patch notes for those, but will have them as soon as we can.

    Edit - I should clarify, we're patching out for these updates right now.

    There will be an update patched out within the next hour or so. This is a code patch to address the Psionicist Mindspies, Bard Epic bug, crash bug on corpse dragging, and the bug where selling an enhanced item has a chance for that item's enhancements to appear on other items.
