DK starting weapon

  1. Now I know this will seem like a very small thing for a lot of people, but with F2P coming--and hopefully a lot of new players along with it--first impressions will be very important.
It has always bugged me that a new Dread Knight must start off at level 1 with a one-hand sword. The DK is the master of the two-hand weapon, and many of our skills require a two-hand weapon to even work. It makes no sense to me that all new DKs must start off and play through several levels with a one-hand sword!
It wouldn't even take 5 minutes to give starting DKs a two-hand weapon. The very low damage weapons already exist in-game, and it would give new players the right impression of the class from the start.
Please give new DKs a proper weapon to use from the get-go! It is silly to play through 3-5 levels with an incorrect weapon, training a skill that will never, ever be used again! (1h slash and longsword or shortsword)
  2. With IOD you start with a two hander and this will be applied to other starting areas when F2P launches.

Any news on the DK Epic dismounting us with the pulsing buff?

Pretty disappointing that this is the DK thread that gets a response......wow. I'm at a loss.
  5. Thanks for the reply Silius. Glad to hear it is being fixed.
Yeah, I know it is a small thing, but it has been a pet peeve of mine since Vanguard launched on Day One. And seeing as how I have 6 DKs from lvl 10-55 (and loathe the IoD) I have seen that silly 1h sword way too many times!

Conspiracy theory time! Does this mean they are actually going to do some revamping of the original starter areas? Hopefully bringing itemization up to match the IOD, i.e. meaning gaining helm and cloak slots like the Dawners get? It will be great to have more reasons to experience the great story and flavor that the old zones give. I like the Isle, but if the old areas had better tutorials on game play I would not mind seeing it go away.
Ok, sorry for hijaking the thread, but seeing Silius post that made my day and gives me hope they doing some good stuff with the f2p work.
