Bloodmage healing/aggro

    I've played a bloodmage up to 20 and am enjoying the class very much.

    I've noticed in groups it is very easy to pull aggro while healing (reminds me of healing in vanilla WoW a little). Anyway, I'm looking for healing strategies specific to bloodmages in general, and controlling hate/aggro as well.

    Thanks.

    Hi Nags

    Are you primarily healing through your lifetaps? (Entwining Vein)

    Bloodmage is supposed to generate almost no aggro if you're healing through lifetaps

    I appreciate the response and I'm sure that's the problem. The last group in particular, I had to keep reverting to direct heals, due to some DPS pulling aggro and taking a lot of damage too.

    It's been a fun challenge thus far.

    BM is one of the most interesting healers imo. Managing blood union and watching your hp bar fluctuate wildly makes it much more exciting than the other healers. Make sure you're macroing your dps stances into your lifetaps and direct damage spells, and your healer stance into your healing abilities to play BM efficiently.

    Heal mainly using entwining vein, and throw the occasional direct heal on a group member who has pulled aggro, especially if they are taking damage fast.

    for starters... I have played a Bloodmage since 6 months after launch and it is my main raiding toon. If you need help ask for Tinqu in chat, if I am on line someone will find me and I am happy to help you.;

    Once you perfect the gearing of the Bloodmage and the use of your crift AOE heal you should rarely ever use a direct heal....useing direct heals is the ONLY way you will pull healing argo, now you CAN pull dps argo with your tap heals if your tank is not skilled at keeping argo.
    Youalso need to school your caster that it is THEIR job to stay within 10m of you not the other way around, this will ensure they are within range of your AOE crit heal and that should be plenty to keep them topped of if they control their argo, if they cant do either of those two things you are unlikely to be able to keep your grp alive.

    One other key thing is that you are a hybred class should be geared as such, but mainly you should be geared as a caster since 99% of your healing should be coming from the damage you life taps do. You need your spell crit to be maxed out, the more you crit the more your AOE crit heal is available to use.

    I appreciate all the responses and will certainly call on you at some point.

    I've been studying the "aggressive bloodmage thread" on here and that seems a good way to go.

    Again, my thanks!

    The other thing I find very useful to throw a heal on that sorc that always pulls aggro is to use /assistoffensive in front of my lifetaps. That will make sure the heal always goes to the person with the aggro at the moment (unless of course they die before your spell goes off lol).
