Marketplace Feedback

  1. Please stop comparing in game items found in EQ1 and 2 with items in Vanguard, there is a massive difference between the games.
Let's take mounts in EQ1 for example, they are bought, with in game platinum, and so are bags for that matter, meaning the are straight up an in-game vendor item.
However, the SC bought flying mount is more comparable with the pegasus, and knowing how ridicilously easy it is to farm 500 faction plat at low levels these days, it can't possibly ruin that experience for many people.

    +1 Agreed!
Also PLEASE make a potion available that makes my character permanently immune to "Group Illusion: Kobold"
I get SO tired of clicking that off, and tired of /cancelb "Group Illusion: Kobold" taking up space in my macros!
    PLEASE!
  3. Being able to expand shoruls stomach would be nice.
There are already item unlocks for f2p to use seems that a similar potion to unlock bound items for same account wouldn't be too hard...but I could be wrong. Like the idea though.
  4. I could easily see an expansion system working, though it might require a bit of effort from the poor guy who has to to the item creation / recipe creation.
We already have cleverly hidden crafting tables that allow for the combination of items (without any skill in crafting).
Simply create an item on the marketplace that 'upgrades' the existing bags (starting from the top end ones), that when combined with an existing bag on these tables, results in an upgraded bag. It increases slots by 10 perhaps.
Other items I could see in the marketplace:
    Upgraded Bridles
Reincarnation potion - gives you a full heal + buff if you drop below 0 health
Harvester potion - gives you bonus +resources from harvesting. (Much like if 2 people are hitting it)
    Special Crafting Recipes, ect
  5. I personally would like to see in the store would require a change to the UI to accomidate. I would like to keep appearance weapons. I dont need to glitzy shiny glowings green swords of eq2. I have already found very cool looking weapons that I would like to statically keep in appearance. Awesome realistic looking weapons are cool for me.
I also am keeping armor sets in my bank, and boxes in my house. I would like to be able to showcase those armor sets in my house like a mannaquin. Mannaquin would hold appearance armor slots for armor and weapons. I would have several per character so I can mix and match to find the perfect set of armor I would like to wear.
I understand the crafters being upset with the bags in the market place. I also understand that most of the high level crafters are artificially keeping the price of items high. This puts the better stuff out of the price range of the lower levels unless they are veterans that have the cash on their mains.
I would like to see custom houses and pristige homes but... you purchase the plot and the house and still have to build it. New recipies for the crafters and dont have to be as high level to craft it. The price of things in the auction house are just too high for new players. 18 gold for 10 brick? way to much.
Appearance weapons and armor recipies on the market place. Let the crafters purchase the recipies so they can create the items themselves.
Bags are covered, I would rather buy a 60 slot bag on the market place than at 32 slot bag from auction house. easy no brainer there. Having bag unlockers would be great. Unlocker per character to unlock another bag slot. I wont give you a price because you are already pricing things way to high anyway.
Crafting materials on the market place. NO DROP NO TRADE materials. EQ2 people made a mint of ingame currancy buying from market place and selling right back in the auction house. If a person wants to learn crafting and not learn harvesting that is their choice if they can buy the materials from a vendor or marketplace.
Mounts, I love my spectral wolf and spider. I hate my starter horse. What i hate is the speed difference. 90 speed mount or a 30 speed mount, umm faster is better. I would skip the mount quests in game if I can buy a faster one period. I am spending tons of money getting keys to get a Wurm from finch chest and have yet to get anything other than a potion. I have spent probably 50 bucks on keys already and all to get a flying mount pre level 50. A jumping pet would be nice!!!! a mid level pet for travel yes. Level 30 jumping pet is worth thinking about.
Shared bank accounts and additional bank slots for purchase. We already have one bank per continent but additional levels of storage and shared cash spots would be great.
enough of my ranting that is my feedback. Loving the game so far
  6. My new speedy bags are dropping the buff and making me slow again. Have to unequip and reequip it to get the buff back. Not just one toon, had two in Tursh.
  7. Other items id like in he store-
Potion and/ or permanent charm letting my toons recall directly to my house-
I want pink flamingoes for my yard- or the Telon equivalent
    Bunk beds
  8. WARNING! Incoming complaint!
While being mentored last night I noticed a couple tank items I had on my toon had the option (unbindable).
Since they were pretty decent I decided "Hey, why not buy some SC and move them to the tank alt?".
With the double deal weekend I thought 1000 (which then should be 2000) would be a good deal.

    BIG MISTAKE!

First of all users of german keyboards can for some turded reason not type in the "@" sign.
After about 15 minutes of trying to type in my paypal information (which requires an email adress) I eventually
gave up. Even copy/paste from notepad would not work. No way to put in the "@".
BTW: Insert, Delete and several other keys are not working either in the pos ingame browser.

So I decide the best option would be to buy it via the SMS/cellphone option.
This worked perfectly, EXCEPT you don't get the double deal when you do that. I found that out the hard way, hah.

Anyways. Now I got screwed over for a 1000 SC but I have the unbind potions I was looking for...SITTING IN MY CLAIM WINDOW.
And no way to get them from there. Reinstalling the default UI, trying to claim again removes them from the claim window
but does not move them to my inventory. After closing the claim window and reopening it it will be in the claim again.

Which is not a bad thing, since after unmentoring and going back to my original level the items I wanted to unbind them with
are NO LONGER FLAGGED unbindable. What gives?

Enjoy the 10Euro you ripped off of me. It's the last money you'll see from me.

Pink flamingoes! You will have the local neighborhood society complaining lol. Crafters can make bunk beds but they are huge and do not function as other beds allowing you to lay down while sinking rather deeper than one should.
Vanguard could make an entire tab in marketplace for housing/ship effects. Smoke from fireplace, house paint, yard styles from a garden to...pink flamingoes. Ships with color options, sail colors, sail designs, and flags would be pretty sharp.

I am German as well and tried this paypal thing as well for a looooong time. As I am programmer I found a way: You can press_and_holt ALT + Numkeyboard 64 for entering a @ to the field. But finally paypal never worked for any of my accounts. It just gives you a standard error message so I used Creditcard in the end.
I also had this problem with items flagged as unbindable - even boss dropped ones, that always were soulbound. So I think that was just an error by the devs with bad flagging equipped items on older chars. Never had this again.

  12. Ok, as I said before I understand that it is easy to get the marketplace up and running with what's already available in game. Some items in Marketplace are superior than any in game which brings that frightening and sad "pay to win" concept up. I don't think it's to that state yet but it seems to be trending that way if you look at the bags.
Griffons and hounds of all varieties are all about, appearance armor from quests, slappy has a whistle for sale. I made a joke in general chat days ago about his whistle will be in market soon, I should have posted my prediction lol. Your going to continue to put out material related to quests I think we all get that, like it or not.
Many people have posted fine ideas and items they would like to see. Ideas that could positively improve both game and profit for SOE. So question is was this thread placed up top just to entertain us or is anything we have posted here being considered, in the works, etc? Some would take effort I know but it would be nice if we could hear from you.
  13. k, some Marketplace Feedback. Based off of the game update notes just posted.
Added the following items to the marketplace
    • Skeleton keyring
    • Petamorph Skeleton
    • Diplomat's Pouch of Knowledge
    • Crafter's Satchel of Knowledge
    • Adventurer's Pack of Knowledge
    • Slappy's Whistle
I didn't copy the part about the chests, because I really don't care that they got replaced. I will say the keyring is nice, because it addresses the "they're oh so expensive" complaint that kept coming up. The price for the keyring is much more reasonable. Also petamorphs = happy pet junkies.

    That being said:

Slappy's Whistle is awesome, and one of the best reasons to get exposed to the diplo system in general. Putting it on the marketplace is dumb, and I know a lot of people that would've never bothered exposing themselves to diplo, and thus discovering how much fun it is, if they hadn't wanted to be able to make people dance like fools at will. Yes, people will probably buy the crap out of it. They're also a lot less likely to bother trying diplo - it's something that *sounds* dumb and pointless to a lot of people. They try it out to get Slappy's, find out it's fun, and it's a valuable gameplay addition to them.

I fully understand that the point of the marketplace is to generate revenue for you. However, this is getting borderline insulting as to how blatant you're making the cash grab. Between my twelve characters, I own quite a few mounts and bags of various flavors. I happily bought them when they were first introduced on the cash store because they're handy and even though I'm a gold member, I have no trouble providing some additional financial support for this game.

Then you brought out the Adventurer's Pack of Speed, and I thought to myself, "Well, that would've been nice to have been in originally since I probably would've just bought that instead for some of my characters." And you know, I even rationalized it - I harvest pretty extensively on some of my characters, and yeah, that extra bit of speed will, over time, make it totally worth it. So I bought a few for my primary harvesters.

Now we get this. I don't know what they are. Haven't logged in to look yet. I'm guessing, based off of the "of Knowledge" tag that they give either a base stat % increase or an experience gain % increased. And this is also the point at which you're casually sliding one foot over the line between "providing neat stuff that's kinda useful" and "putting successively better versions of the same thing up to see how many times someone will buy it". The former is fine - that's what good cash shop models do.

The latter is how you anger your playerbase and go right down the route into a lot of us telling you to eat it on principle. I'm probably one of the biggest SOE apologists on this board, and I genuinely love your games, but when I first read those patch notes, my first thought was not, "Oh hey, cool new items!" It was "F*cking really?"
  14. I have to agree with the above comment in regards to the new types of bags & Slappy's Whistle. The bags seem to be a bit of a cheap move, and Slappy was an item of (albeit lowbie) prestige for anyone who journeyed through diplomacy to get it.
The bags really are unnecessary-- I've bought a few on my characters, and I'm already to where Flare stated. I'm not buying any more on sheer principle because I'm pretty sure you'll come out with something even better in two weeks, so there's no point in buying now.
Taking away Slappy as just through diplo removes one of the first desirable carrots for new players to try out Diplomacy long enough to understand and start to enjoy it.
  15. I prefer how Fallen Earth does the items for their marketplace.

The items may have the same stats/functions as the crafted ones, but they have different skins.

Their chests are better (not to mention more varied)- the best treaure chest contains "a random but weighted mix of Common, Uncommon and Merchant Components, Serendipity Items, Marketplace Cash Items, Chemicals and Rare Dyes." You don't get just one item though, its a good 7-8 items ex. 5 Salvaged Rubber, 10 Scrap Glass, 5 Improved Coal,10 Ragged Wool,5 Ragged Amarex, 10 Scrap Fasteners, Pale Chemical, Anti-Glare Sunglasses. (yes most of the chest is crafting components)

I recommend dropping the 'no trade' on the marketplace items and open a catagory for them on the auction house. I have an abundance of potions that I doubt I will use on one character. (Fallen Earth also allows their marketplace items onto the secondary market (in game AH) and I don't see that it has removed or lessened the demand for the marketplace goods.

I can say that personally, I am done with Finch's Treasure chests unless changes are made.
  16. Petamorph Dire Bear:
Bought one for my little bear shammy alt, thinking that "Dire Bear" would be a larger, meaner-looking version of the bear pet. I was very disappointed with the result. The ONLY thing that changed was the bear's color--changing from a mousey-brown to a reddish-brown. That is it. Not larger, not meaner--nothing!
Now think about it historically--Dire Wolf compared to normal wolf--they were MUCH larger! Well, I guess I see why this petamorph was on sale!
Please consider making this illusion worthwhile! At least make the size increase!
AND, I am still waiting for that potion to make my character permanently immune to "Group Illusion: Kobold" PLEASE!
  17. Finally got home and checked the new bags to see if I was right. Yep! $22.50 for a 5% combat/quest exp bag (same size as the $4.50 bag), $18.00 for the 5% crafting bag that's only 5 slots larger than the $4.00 bag, and $18 for the diplomat version, same as crafting. Sorry, but no thank you. If these had a much larger capacity I might consider paying that price for one. As it stands there's no way, not for only a 5% exp gain to a single sphere.
The worst part is this pushes me one step closer to being in agreement with Sagremor about the intentions behind the F2P release. These aren't even vaguely reasonably priced, and staggering the bag type releases like you've been doing is insulting to people who have actually been defending the cash shop choices and supporting the game by buying crap off of there.

This '@' key not working for international keyboards should be fixed in the client patch Todd put out recently. Please let me know if it doesn't work for you (I don't have a german keyboard ;-)).

I /agree 100% with the OP and would like to step back and add IMHO if you have not looked at EQ1 lately you should.
EverQuest - The Greatest RPG of all Time - is now a Race to the Top that is making money 13 years after launch.
If you think SoE can't do it to you - think again...
What I would love to see is that next time you log on type /walk don't run, and stop now & then to look around at the wonder of Telon!
  20. honestly these bags make no sense. the strength of this game is the 1-50 content. unless the dev team can push out a lot of new 51-55 group/solo content, i don't understand why they would want a majority of the new players to hit the seneless grind known as end game vg content faster?
