My wife and I are returning to Vanguard. We have played before but never played for any long period of time. Between life and other games, Vanguard just never got the time for us to commit to it. Now, we are in a place to really enjoy the game. We started last week and have been loving all of our time so far. We are both crafters and adventurers by nature and we do not rush content.

We are looking for a family style guild that is semi active. We prefer guild chat over voice chat and over the years tend to lean towards guilds with a more mature/older community. We are not opposed to younger players but we do seem to enjoy our experience more when there are other married couples in game like us.

We both love to help players and guild members in game. I am from the older EQ1 generation where the community is what makes the game and although my wife never played EQ1 she is of the same philosophy. Chances are that we will never make any kind of end game our goal so it is more about a solid community and experiencing all facets of the game, rather than trying to get the best of anything or min/maxing at any point in time.

If there are any guilds that may be a good fit for us please respond. We are also reading all the guild recruitment forums but wanted to take the time to at least introduce ourselves.

I play a lvl 15 DK named Dunkyn and my wife plays a lvl 15 Shaman named Myrahna. We will soon be creating other characters but most of the time we will be crafting and slashing our way through the world on our main characters.

Hope to chat and meet a lot of great players in the near future.

    Regards,

    Dunkyn

best advice is to read the guild lfm posts but only look at ones that you find on during your play time. look around you , do a /who all guildname . Also, if the guild doesn't have a recruiter on line while you are playing that may be a red flag. There are several casual, mature guilds in the game, it is pretty much the VG style. Welcome back and have fun!

Hello Dunkyn and hello to your lovely better half too :)

You didn't post your time zone. Brains and Brawn may be a good fit for you. While many players are in the US east coast area, we do have members who are online almost any time of the day.

Hail and well met Dunkyn and Myrahna,

    Welcome to VG!

I started playing EQ1 back at the time Kunark was released and my wife thought I was crazy. She watched quietly from the side lines (read - couch with book in hand) for a few years.

Then I came home from work one day and found her leveling a gnome wizard. I forgave her for the gnome :D and bought a second computer! And after a decade of high adventure we finally found our way home to Telon last year just before free to play was launched.

    Welcome home Dunkyn and Myrahna!

    See you around Telon!

Greetings, Dunkyn and welcome to both you and Myrahna.

Should you and your wife find roleplaying your characters enjoyable and enhancing to the game, there are a few RP guilds on the server as well. I can not speak directly regarding Stone and Steel, but both The Preferiti (my guild) and Blackstone (led by Dhelmar) are very much they type of guild that you have noted above, with the added benefit of a RP community.

Also, just a general gaming point to the both of you: a while back, the veterans wanted to offer a general outlet for players with questions (regardless of the sphere) so we started the /help channel. Should you find yourselves in need, the /help channel could very likely be a resource.

Should you like to speak with someone directly, please feel free to give me a shout at any time!

    All the best,

RP is an interesting subject with myself and my wife. We have never really done it but have always wondered what it would be like in game. Maybe Rift will be the game we give it a shot. We generally enjoy the RP community as there seems to be more to the game than just the simple game mechanics but like I said, we have never actually went ahead and contributed to an RP community.

We play EST anywhere between 8pm and 11pm give or take an hour or so depending on the evening.

Man, I wish you guys were PST. Would be nice to play alongside you and your wife. I play 9:30pm to 1am PST, so we would generally miss each other.

I sure hope you find a guild that fits you. It's always good to see new players coming into VG.

Brains and Brawn plays during CST & EST prime times :) And we also have master crafters/adventurers and mature players.

So the wife and I decided to switch roles after our start. We play a cleric paladin combo with me healing (probably not good for her health). We are mostly on Draidyn and Myradon.

    Hoi thar Dunkyn,

Aasha said, "... I can not speak directly regarding Stone and Steel ...". Well, Ah kin wager a pint that yeh'd get a kick out o' th' lads.

At our core are lads which first awoke in th' Everquest realm. We've found ourselves in various incarnations through th' years.

An' ifn' yer nae sure whar t' make yer home, feel free t' seek us out just fer a delve or two (stoneandsteelguild.com). Yeh'll find a lad or two tendin' th' fire when yeh tend t' be aroon.

See yeh out thar, an' keep yer Hammer's High!

    Khadric
