What is a sorc to do?

  1. Prior to the fire pummel nerf, I enjoyed KDQ kiting while drinking my morning coffee(s) before heading off to work. SOE killed VG for me when this happened. I have very little time re: raiding and running around in my circles hitting multiple mobs was almost like a mantra.
I see sorcs kiting... how is this done?
What alternatives are there besides Magi Hold and Shimmering Shallows, both of which I find boring.
Thoughts, please. I want a reason to keep playing.
  2. we play because we like hanging around with each other. some of us sorcs have never kited, so it really depends on where you are in your progression, named runs (even mini ones) are the most productive. But otherwise a grind is a grind if you are working on faction/pota offerings. To offset the grind , i personally try to help people with whatever they need, usually mentoriing or blasting stuff. I find more fun in those pursuits than anything else.

You can still kite. You just can't kite 30+ mobs at once. Use fireball instead of fire pummel. That's how it was done before. ;)
  4. Real Sorcs use Fireball
  5. Ask a Psion to kite for ya! :D
  6. Sorry late coming to answer this.

Give it sometime, after the next couple of changes that Silius and developers will do in order to make the game more accessable to those coming to free to play, there will be more ways to level characters from 50-55 using kite groups or mob killing in Kojan.

Give it time, things will work out, trust me on this

So if you can't kite 30+ mobs at a time you dont want to play? I hope that's not how most of us feel. Seems like you've been spoiled by something that probably shouldn't have ever even been in the game.
Here's the problem with it; the players who get into those kite groups can get their last 5 levels 10x faster than a normal player would. So here some players are REALLY REALLY earning those last 5 levels while the ones who KDQ kite are more or less having it handed to them.
It's still not exactly fast but still. If its something the devs really want in their game than I question whether or not this game is going to end up just like eq2 did (read "easy as heck").
